Customer reviewIts modern, safe and clean. That´s the problem. If you´re going to a place like Punta del diabolo you´re expecting a place with character, which fits into this nice little village and that´s not what you´ll find. Instead, it´s all american, from stuff to guests, has its own bar/restaurant near the beach and only a small kitchen with two hot plates at the terrace, which is little in comparison to the number of guests, so you have to go to the restaurant. I can´t recommend this hostel, if you want to feel like in a small fishing village than in an anonymous city. |

Christiçopher BurnettWe went there right at the start of the tourist season, but there were still quite a few people there ' and lots of staff. It was a very friendly place, the staff were helpfull and they even cooked decent meals in the evenings that were pretty cheap. the rroms were fine, and our private room even had a log fire. |

Bertie WhitfordSimply put, El Diablo Tranquilo is the best hostel I have ever had the pleasure to stay at. From the moment I walked in the door to the moment I left (six weeks later), I felt a welcoming warmth that extended beyond the staff, emanating from all the guests and even the cleaners too! Whether you want a place to recuperate and laze on the beach or an action packed stay, either extreme is available. For such a small and idyllic town there is plenty to do, and always someone to do it with! I planned on staying a few days and ended up staying much longer - this seemed to be a noticeable trend, to varying degrees, in nearly every traveller who came through. I worked in the bar and restaurant owned by the hostel (just down the road) and it was without doubt the best job I have ever had! The food was delicious and wholesome and the atmosphere of the hostel resonated through the restaurant, with everyone knowing each other by the time dinner was over. The owner, Brian, despite looking like a biblical prophet at times, has done a fantastic job with the place and is a mighty interesting chap to talk to over a caipirinha or two. The staff when I was there were an interesting mix of nationalities and everyone had an absorbing tale to tell. I made many a new friend during my stay.. I can't lavish enough praise on this hostel, and I plan to return there one day soon. The utter bliss and tranquillity I found there is just too good to pass up. Don't stay anywhere else! |

Liesl WattThis is a great hostel. The owner has really got things right here and has created a great atmosphere for travellers to relax and unwind in the most stunning setting. Only point for improvement would be a bigger kitchen as there was a lot of demand for this facility this time of year as many of the restaurants in town are now closed for the season. Hats off to Brian & Heidi! Had a really memorable and fun stay and met the most awesome fellow travellers. |

Tiffani BatesI have been backpacking off and on for five years now and this is by far one of my best experiences! It's not uncommon for people to plan a few days there and end up spending a month or returning.......the owners are both very amazing, hardworking people, the staff is defintley there to ensure you have a good time, it has a very down to earth, family feel to it. Whether you go during high or low season, your guaranteed an aweosme experience! |

Carol MurphyI had read a review before coming stating simply "The kind of place you travel to find", and I could not agree more. The relaxed setting amplified the rustic feel of the village itself and the bar was a perfect place to connect to fellow travelers over a shared meal,a beer, and some cards or dice. After 4 Days spent walking the beaches, fishing, and going on a horseback riding trip provided by the hostel, I feel like I'm heading out to finish my trip with renewed energy. |

Customer reviewThe hostel has a really good atmosphere and is a fun place to meet people, however, it only opened a couple of weeks ago and there are a few problems that need to be sorted out... the kitchen is tiny, there is hardly ever hot water or internet and the breakfast is not great. |
