Liked: Right downtown, though supposedly in bad neighbourhood at night. Very helpful staff and close to most things of interest.

Disliked: We were told not to go down to the water area along a certain road near the hostel for safety reasons but this has less to do with the hostel and more to do with Montevideo. The dorms are quite cramped and can get quite hot as there is no AC and only a single fan for a small room holding 8 people.

Liked: Nice location.

Disliked: 1) Poor security: the rooms remains open all the time; I asked for a place to let my cellphone charging, I left in the indicated place for 2 hours, and it was stoled. 2) Very small dorms. You stay in a 8 people room that should acomodate 2 (seriously!).

Liked: The chain of El Vijero hostels are great. They are fun and safe and have alot of great facilities and activities on offer for backpackers that are cheap and worth it! Very clean and comfy

Disliked: The only negative I can say isn't about the hostel itself but a staff member in particular who was very rude and purposely not helpful. I have remembered this the most about our stay unfortunately as he was almost mocking us for not knowing anything about the city we just arrived in and other things

Liked: Nice great staff, lots of bathrooms, decent breakfast of bread, coffee, cereal, and yogurt, and good information about what to do.

Disliked: VERY VERY UNSAFE LOCATION. My friend was robbed 2 steps away from the door of the hostel and lost her passport, camera, and wallet as they took her entire purse. Everyone we spoke to in Uruguay told us that we were staying in a very unsafe neighborhood, so here's your warning before you actually get there.

Liked: The staff is friendly and speaks perfect english! Breakfast and Wifi was good. Can't complain about the hostel itself, buuuuut....

Disliked: ....the area around is really dangerous after 6pm.

Liked: The service and friendliness of the staff to recommend the best places to meet, in addition to the movement of people from different places is a strong point

Disliked: Everything is perfect but the space is kinda limited, but nothing too tight is not the most spacious

Liked: Strangely this hostel was the cheapest we could find but was one of the highest standards so much so that we plan on staying at their other htels in punta del este. staff so so helpful, friendly (although this seems to be urugyan people generally), location ideal and super value for money

Liked: The staff is perfect. The breakfast is very complete: bread, yogurt, coffe, milk, corn flakes, tea, juice!!! The hostel is clean and the location is very near from the atractions of montevideo!El personal es muy bueno. Contestaron todo que pregunté. El desayuno es maravilloso y tiene bastante variedad. El albergue estaba limpio y bien ubicado, cerca de la zona turistica. No te preocupes, por ser en ciudad vieja - no es peligroso como la gente dice.

Disliked: El baño podría estar un poco más limpio.

Liked: Mainly its location. Very close from the Buquebus terminal when arriving from Buenos Aires, and central to the peninsula and places like Plaza Independencia. Easy walk to nearby attractions.
