Liked: Close to tourist locations in Ciudad Vieja. Cool balconies. That is pretty much it.

Disliked: Bathrooms were disgusting. One of them constantly smelled on urine and sewage. I was on the bottom bunk in the 10 female dorm and could not sit up without hitting my head. I booked either a 6 or 8 bed dorm but was put in a 10. Staff were Ok, but the information given was not always correct. I asked for a Citibank and when I got to where I was told there would be one, there was none. We wanted to rent bikes to go to the beach. We were a party of 3 and they only had 2 bikes available so we had to wait for the bike rental place to bring one. After waiting one hour, we asked receptionist to call bike rental company again because we had been told it would be a 45 min wait. We were told that they were 2 blocks away. The receptionist went to the get the hostel bikes and realized that one of the bikes is not working properly. So the bike rental place would have to bring another one. We ended up just taking the bus.

Disliked: butter and milk at breakfast was off and the water pressure in shower was low .

Liked: bed and room were very nice. good location in the old city

Disliked: the shower in the on sweet had no presure it was just dribbling out and after forking out extra money for a single sweet for once it was a big downer.

Liked: Dorms are big and clean. Staff are fantastic and really helpful! Would feinately reccomend it to other travellers!

Disliked: The proeprty is not in the best zone but staff are really honest and tell you where you shouldn't go at night.. but at least it's in the city centre

Liked: Very helpful and friendly staff.

Disliked: Location was in the old city so did a lot of walking but at the same time it was a good way to see the city. Better if you are staying for slightly longer.

Liked: LOcation was good. Staff very friendly - chatty. Spoke very good English. Very helpful.

Disliked: Lights in room were about three candle power. Very dim. General thoughts are that the image (picture) that I saw was better than the real thing. The bathroom of the "suite" where I stayed was at best not that good. It looked as if it had been put together as cheaply as possible.

Liked: All the staff are super nice. Various bathrooms to use and very good living room area. Definitely worth the price.

Disliked: the rooms could've been warmer since it was cold.

Liked: nice and homely, plenty of character. staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the girl who i cant remember her name!! breakfast was good. tv and social areas were fairly good. they offer a very cheap laundry service!

Disliked: the location at night felt very unsafe. we walked from the ferry port at about 7 oclock when it had just got dark, we got heckled by many homeless alcoholics and then followed by two very dodgy looking men, we had to hide in a restaurant!!! i suggest taking a taxi. the rooms were separated by doors instead of walls, so we could hear a lot of snooring at night!!

Disliked: en el barrio de noche se tiene que vigilar, más vale prevenir que curar.

Liked: It's a good location in the centre of the Cuidad Vieja. The staff were great and the hostel was lovely and clean!!

Disliked: Nothing!

Liked: The Hostal was run by a very very friendly family and this comes over in the atmosphere of the hostel. The rooms are very large with high ceilings which makes for a comfortable stay. The Breakfast had fresh fruit, Cereal and bread + nice coffee.

Disliked: Could have done with a few more showers

Liked: All in all, good hostel :)

Disliked: We went to have breakfast at 9.30 there was nothing left, so we have to ask staff to bring more food.

Liked: Nice big living area, staff was extremely helpful.

Disliked: Not necessarily a dislike, just something to be aware of - the location is nice, in the middle of the Old City, however if you are staying for just a night, and you are entering and exiting Montevideo by bus, it can be a bit far from Tres Cruces (bus terminal). It´s easy to take the city buses, but it´s kind of a hassle if you´re only there a short time. If, however, you´re coming in/leaving by boat, it´s very convenient.

Liked: It is in the heart of the old city, very near to the port and there are several bars to go out at night within walking distance.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: This is a nice little hostel and is very relaxing. Really nice.

Disliked: The bathrooms didn't smell too good, but other than that it was good.

Liked: The location was great and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Disliked: It was booked out by a class of uni students when I was there so I was the only traveller which felt a bit strange! Also my bed had been double booked for the second night which meant I had to leave earlier than I planned.

Disliked: Nothing wrong with the property, just that Montivideo isn´t very nice;)

Liked: Staff very helpful and friendly common area really nice - light and spacious. location good for bars and plaza indpeenzia etc cleaned very frequently

Disliked: location a bit grim and dodgy at night. bathrooms could do with updating

Liked: The hostel was nice and clean but quite basic. There was a hippy vibe with people playing guitar and singing late into the night.

Disliked: Not enough bathrooms. Noisy bedrooms. Basic breakfast. Some regard the location as quite dangerous- two friends on separate occasions had their bags stolen on the same street. Be careful of the young kids lurking in the vicinity.
