Liked: Clean sheets + tower

Disliked: Too many beds in a small room. I couldn't even use the ladder to climb up in my bed...

Liked: unlike some other hostels reviewed at hostelbookers.com, this one IS quiet with clean and adequate bathrooms (can´t do much about mosquitoes) easy to get to the bus terminal (buses 300 & 407) for long distance trips nice atmosphere in the basement (bar & internet) & terrace (although it´s underutilized)

Disliked: from my understanding of the neighborhood, not many places to eat out nearby

Liked: I had my valuables nicked on the street, by motorbike-based thieves who could have operated anywhere. The staff, especially the owner, were very supportive and actively helpful. Palermo is a long way from being a smart area but it has lots going for it: beach, candombe drumming, street market. The touristy bits of Montevideo are dreary. I am happy that I stayed where I did.

Disliked: The bar does not offer wine. The internet cafe machines don't work fairly often, which increases pressure on one that is working.

Liked: The balcony was not so funny like the picture shows. The lights were turned off at night and was not allowed to turn it on. The staff is very helpful and funny!

Liked: Booked a 6 person dorm, ended up in 8 bed dorm with only one other person. No lock though.

Liked: It´s a nice place with a great roofterrace, close to the beach and walking distance to citycenter (30min). The staff are very helpful and friendly.Unfortunatley there was a lot of noise whenever they had a party in the basement..

Liked: fantastic hostel - this is how hostels should be!clean comfy beds. new(ish) clean bedlinen, individual safes and reading lights. lovely modern bathrooms... the only thing that let it down slightly was the locaton - there´s not much in the area.would highly recommend this hostel
