Liked: Very clean and beautifully furnished and decorated hostel in an old building with high ceilings. The kitchen is big and well equipped. Location is top, only a few meters to the Mercado del Puerto.

Liked: I liked the atmosphere of the hostel and how the people here show to us that we are important. My family felt that were in home. We are very happy to know the hostel and the people there. We can recommend the hostel al sur to our friends.

Liked: It was possibly the most beautiful hostel I´ve stayed in. My double room was amazing - really high ceilings, funky decor. There were three lovely bathrooms - each decorated in nice different colours.Katia and the staff were really friendly, honest, easy-going and helpful.The fresh orange juice at breakfast was great.

Liked: Very nice hotel, really clean and very good breakfast served...The staff was very nice but should give a little more information on things to do in Montevideo...But we had a very good time! It's the best hotel we ever had in our trip so far.

Liked: Everything in the hostel is pure art. Modern furniture combined with old wonderful architecture. The toilets are always clean, and the linen smell just washed. The girls of the hostel prepare us a delicious breakfast with fruits, cakes, yogurt, tea, coffee, juice, breads, and many other things made of organic ingredients. There is a small library full of books in many languages, from the local spanish till the distant german. The only thing you have to attempt is that the hostel do not accept credit cards. Another point, not so importnat, is that the internet is too low. If you want an advice, enjoy the good location, in the center of the old city and the most important sightseeings, but take some time to visit the modern town, not often recommended by the local tourism, althgough much more beautiful and exciting than the old Montevideo, with pleasent hot water beaches. It will look a little bigger and less poor then it seems at the first sight. You will love it then!

Liked: it really felt like being at home, very nice place, lots of attention to detail in rooms with things that are nice when travelling. One downside is the area is near the port and isnt the nicest area at times. Wouldnt recommend to people travelling by themselves especailly, and you do need to take care walking around. A real shame as an absolute brilliant hostel and great staff.

Liked: Really great place, the area looks a bit run down, but we found it to be safe and actaully quite nice. It may have helped if we spoke more Spanish to get more information out of the people who run it

Liked: The hostel is beautifully decorated and has been open for just under a year so still has a very new feel to it. Breakfast is all organic products, the staff are helpful and there is a relaxed vibe around the place.
