Mundo Verde

Mundo Verde is a different place, part camping, part hostel and entirely natural! Located inside the Natural Reserve of Santa Isabel, the view to the Valle de la Luna and the ocean is exceptional! This exceptional landscape makes Mundo Verde an ideal place to relax, enjoy the nature and disconnect. Mundo Verde is an unique experience in Uruguay. Here time stops to let you live at your own path.

La Casa is the common house where a homemade breakfast is served in the morning. After noon the kitchen is at disposition of the guest until late at night. Sometimes we organized big asado and vegi asado! Once a week or more we cook pizza in our clay oven.
The entire house is at guest disposition, the equipped kitchen, the cozy mezzanine, the library and all the hammocks.
We have music all day long! At night Mundo Verde is light up with candles and there is often a big outside fire taking place with live music.
Water is available thanks to a manual extraction system and solar camping shower are at disposition of guest. We use composting toilet which limit water waste and generate compost.
We use organic waste recycling bins, recycle UHT pack, bottles and everything else which can be useful!

Accommodation Information

We offer about 12 camping pitch for tent of 2 to 4 people . We have some tents and sleeping bags for hire if you don't have your own. We also rent towels.
The camping is almost an island inside the Valle de la Luna, where tents are hidden between the trees. The ocean can be seen and heard from everywhere.
There is a mirador from where you can appreciate the view to the ocean and the Valle de la Luna.
Composting toilets and camping shower are available in the camping. You can also use the house bathroom equipped with a shower (cold water) and composting toilet.

Location Information

Santa Isabel de la Pedrera is located on the Atlantic Uruguayan coast at only 3km from the seaside resort La Pedrera.
Staying in Mundo Verde gives a real opportunity to experience a different way of life and connect to the Nature.
You can explore the Valle de la Luna and the native wood part of the Natural Reserve. There is several clay build houses, small wood houses and most of Santa Isabel inhabitants either do not have electricity or used solar and eolic energy.
You can go food shopping to the local organic garden which offers a range of fresh vegetables, fresh eggs, pan, local pastries, etc. A fruit and veg truck come once a week. There is a corner shop at walking distance open during summer time from 8am to midnight.
There is also a resto-bar Menta, Zorrilla y Limon which offers delicious homemade empanadas, pizzas y postres, live music.
During January and February every Friday, Saturday and Sunday there is free outdoor cinema in the third entrance of Santa Isabel.
