Disliked: unfriendly staff, annoyed when I asked questions, lockers are flimsly made, falling off hinges, and could easily be broken into, 1 bathroom for 8 people

Liked: location, staff, hostel itself

Disliked: the dorms have no windows and the bathrooms are pretty small, the showers even smaller. but the water pressure was constant and the water really hot, which made pretty much up for the size.

Liked: Excellent location and the usual good things but...read dislikes

Disliked: Unbelievably noisy. Heavy metal music so loud from about 6.00 p.m. that you could not hear yourself think. The music revebrated right throughout the hostel. It was impossible to talk unless you went outside and sat on the footpath in the rain. So despite liking everything else, I cannot recommend it.

Liked: comfortable beds, fast computers, good info. awesome breakfast

Disliked: tiny showers, the hostel charged a lot more than the price i had confirmed on hostelbookers. be aware!! exchange rate was REALLY bad

Liked: The property is very clean and tidy, the staff were lovely and we would have loved to stay longer.

Disliked: However the place is very expensive and I don´t feel their events they do are affordable.

Liked: Great shower, good breakfast, lots on offer at the hostel

Disliked: No private rooms available, otherwise it was fine.

Liked: Good location right off the main street, helpful staff, big lockers in rooms, can hire bikes and they organise horse riding trips, pretty good breakfast (cereal, bread, oranges, yoghurt and juice)

Disliked: Bathrooms are IN the dorms, which is really annoying if you want to use it at night, or after you have checked out, and inevitably means you often have to wait. Bathroom was also quite dirty and smelt bad. Hiring bikes is a good idea, but they were relatively expensive and you couldnt change the gears or seat height on the ones we got.

Liked: Ok so are stay didn’t start well. We arrived at the address of the hostel (on the website, hostelbookers and the confirmation email from the hostel) only to be told we were staying in their B&B two blocks down the road (private double rooms are not available in the main hostel). Not a big deal, but easy to clarify this in the email you send to customers. On arriving at the correct address we were shown to our twin single room (we booked a double!) and on enquiring why we didn’t have a double were told it must have been a mix up. Again a small error but annoying none the less! The hostel (B&B not main one) is very quiet compared to the main one with very little socialising as it was mainly occupied by older couples. The hostel is clean, staff relatively helpful (females more than the male who seemed to struggle to book our next Hostel at one of their sister hostels!) and breakfast what you would expect. Colonia is very pretty although you could probably fit it all into a day trip from BA if you were not planning on travelling further in Uruguay.

Disliked: Incorrect address for the hostel and the male member of staff who seemed unable to complete the booking of a sister hostel, luckily when we asked a female member of staff it was done in minutes! Oh and getting a twin room when we booked a double!

Liked: Everything was great about it. Nice room, location, baths and people. You cannot go wrong with this hostel. It is a very good place to stay!

Disliked: Nothing at all.

Liked: Great Location just a short walk from the port/ bus terminal and not far from the old town. The internet is free! The breakfast was nice and staff were helpful.

Disliked: The whole hostel was very cold. The rooms did not really have heating and because it was only about 10c when we were there it was freezing!

Liked: Really good hostel : cheap, confortable, friendly staff. We were 8 in the dorm but it's really huge, with a private bathroom. I really recommend this hostel !

Liked: Excellent hostel, would recommend highly. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. In addition the atmosphere was very good and there were several events in the hostel, free salsa lesson, a band playing music, and an event with food for the guests. I've stayed at many hostels, but this one of the best.
