Liked: The phrase 'hidden gem' springs to mind to describe this hostel. Although it is difficult to find, it is certainly worth persevering to get there. This was great place to stay, my favourite out of four hostels/hotels I stayed in during a summer trip to Crimea.The owner and staff were warm and friendly, rooms comfy and clean with modern furniture, the food was tasty and good value for money. The service was really personal and staff were happy to prepare dishes according to your taste, with complementary glasses of homemade 'compote' (cordial) on offer.The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful, a real respite from the summer crowds not far from the (very discreet) entrance gates.

Disliked: There was only one shower for all the guests. This could be a problem, although I only had to wait once.

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff.Nice little restaurant. Good location to walk to the beach.Clean and well kept.

Disliked: The hostel was quite hard to find and there is no sign outside. The beds get a bit damp because of the moist in the air.

Liked: The set up of this hostel was lovely. Rooms opening out onto a veranda and it was sheltered by trees. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Unfortunately the internet wasn't working at this time. There was only one bathroom and no lock on the door. The beds were damp. Apart from that though it was a lovely place to stay.

Liked: Offers secure accomodation behind coded gate but why no sign `Hotel Edem`? -This would of made it much easier to find.
