Staff was very friendly and very helpful. They helped us with getting around, bus schedules, and the cheapest way to get around. The place was clean, if a little on the rundown side.

The obliging and friendly nature of the manager and the staff was very impressive.. Location is good. Shopping, food and transportation available within one kilo meter. The staff was helpful whenever a request was made.The manager though could not speak english , brought people who knew english to communicate with me. It was helpful.

for backpackers and overnite stayers great, friendly but unfortunately not much choice of places to eat except for very local lokantas. About 15 mins walk down to better restaurants. I am 63 and on my own and I found it difficult to find somewhere without going into Alsancak to some very expensive places. Basmane not really a touristic area unless you are visiting one of the events at the Fair. However I would stay again for a night or so

Free internet is a definite bonus! Staff are friendly enough but don't speak much english. Room was clean. Showers were ok (a little tepid!) If you arrive in Izmir after 10pm getting a taxi is probably preferable. Hostel itself is perfectly secure but we were followed on our way to the hostel which was a little disconcerting!
