Liked: definitely the location which was easily within reach from the ferry point and walking distance to the main attractions in istanbul. the receptionist Canan who received us was EXTREMELY helpful and helped us in almost everything, from directions around istanbul to even giving us directions from the hostel to catch our overnight bus to pamukkale! (which the lady selling the bus ticket was unable to do because she was less fluent in english) the hotel was also very easy and relaxed with check-in and check-out, and allowed us to lounge around and enjoy the facilities even though we have checked out.

Disliked: Nothing much except that the bunk beds were really low! but the rooms were spacious so that compensates for the lack of space!

Liked: first of all the hostel at the center of old istanbul. rate is also very fair for this location.

Liked: It was in a good location, but to be honest, even that wasn't very redeeming because there were many hostels in MUCH better locations that are better 'bang for their buck', so to say. Also, it was quite clean.

Disliked: I left after the one night because there were no other guests in my room. The shower wasn't working properly, and there were a lot of Turkish men in the building. I wasn't sure if they were all staff or what, but they would always be hanging out and smoking. IT was very uncomfortable and I didn't get a chance to meet anyone. Very bad hostel, I would recommend going elsewhere and paying a little bit more.

Liked: this hostel is everyday getting worst. 1. it is a smoker's hostel. 2. hostel surrender to rude, noisy and disrespectful arab youngs. 3. fully dirty. 4. hostel's owner likes to drink and being drunk in lobby.

Disliked: some of the receptionists did not speak English rooftop room was cold and roof terrace you have to pass through to get to your room was messy, full of unused tools people workingon the rooftop freely used the bathroom in our room without at least politely asking

Liked: Cheap hostel, great location, good Turkish breakfast. Pretty good rooftop terrace.

Disliked: Room did not lock so not secure, bathroom was terrible - unclean and practically useless. staff were very unhelpful, didn't even have a local map or an idea how to get to an info centre. room was adjacent to the rooftop terrace which i don't think is the normal dorm rooms, if you stay in a normal dorm room this might be ok.

Liked: The location was good.

Disliked: We disliked everything other than the location, and moved elsewhere after one very bad, sleepless night. We were placed in the dorm directly behind the reception and with the thin walls, we heard every phone call, inquiry, late entry and door bell during the night. Also, the staff didn't help by constantly barging in (it seems it was storage room as well). Bathrooms and the roof terrace were pretty bad too.

Liked: location price and staff all very good.

Disliked: one shower for dorm got a bit crowded in the morning when everyone wants to take one but otherwise good. Just bottom sheet and blanket on bed would be nice to have top sheet also.

Disliked: The fact that I was placed in a room behind the main desk and was unable to sleep at all due to people engaging in conversation either on the phone or with others. I also disliked the fact that the door to some form of store room was located across my room and people walked through to obtain items from this room at rdiculous hours

Liked: The balcony was really nice and it was a great location to walk to see all the touristy sites.

Disliked: The beds were terrible and super uncomfortable to sleep in. The showers and bathrooms were constantly wet and dirty.

Liked: It is really central, next to the Topkapi Palace and 5 min walk to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. Very convenient. Clean beds and warm water, nice and friendly young staff who cannot all communicate in English. The streets are not noisy, so a good night's sleep is possible.

Disliked: It could be a bit more stylish with small and not too expensive changes.

Liked: I've travelled around North America (Mexico, USA) Europe (10 countries, Morocco, India, and now Turkey, and this hostel surprised me for it's worth, talking about price and quality is the best in Istanbul. They told me their prices go up a bit during the summer, but still is always a good choice. Excellent location. Very friendly and helpful staff, and had a great time with other travelers at the common room. Victor, from Spain-Mexico.

Disliked: Nothing, it's just a very cool hostel for a very reasonable price

Liked: Some minutes walk to Topkapi Palace, Agia Sofia,... Very kind staff, he speaks English good.

Disliked: If you must to be at Sabia Gocken Airport in the morning, you can't reach it without using taxi. There is no lockers - but nothing disappeared.

Liked: it was great place and nice people.i like to stay in this hostel because i met also some other travelers..also it close to most importend place..they have an amazing roof to connect with other.if you are looking forword to come istanbul harmony hostel is the nice hostel to stay..they make you very welcome again..

Liked: I met a lot of nice people and have a good time in Istambul. Location is perfect! In the central street. View from windows are perfect.

Disliked: It was not so clean in bathroom and toilet, but beds were with fresh linens and confortable.

Liked: If you are looking for a true Turkish experience than harmony is definitely the place. Selçuk is the most friendliest host I have ever had. He answered every question with honesty and actually helped me find real Turkish experience. I felt less like a tourist and more like a local. Despite the absolutely no frills accommodation, my experience at the harmony hostel was one among great people that I will never forget for a price that is unbeatable.

Disliked: It doesn't have a FULL kitchen but with the great döner in this city who needs a fridge!
