Liked: There is nothing Antique about the Antique Hostel. The place is a youthful chilled out hostel that boasts views of Instanbul from the roof top terrace, which makes for a great chill out place to watch the sunset and the activity of the Bosphorous. The staff are very friendly and always have a smile and a dry wit about them. The rooms are clean and cold in hot summer. The location is perfect with the Blue Mosque only 5 minutes away, and the Bazaars only 10 minutes away with a brisk walk.

Liked: The roof terrace was nice, showers hot and air conditioning cold. The staff was very helpful and the location was great.

Disliked: There was no apple tea for breakfast as promised, but the spread was decent for a hostel. I had some issues working the key for our room and the twin room was small. Some of the lights in our room didn't work.

Liked: Very central location: Seriously one minute walk to the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia. The staff was friendly and helpful: they worked to make things fun. Rooms were clean and decent. The bathrooms were clean enough. Breakfast was really delicious. The terrace had the most wonderful view, great for just sitting and looking around, talking, it was probably my most favorite spot. All in all, it was a great experience and if givin the chance, I would stay there again.

Liked: This hostel to me seems a bit run down. It was pretty clean however the bed linen had holes in it, the sheets didn't fit the bed therefore you end up on the mattress(not on the single or the double) and the towels were also coming apart. On the plus side it is quite a good location and the views from the terrace bar are quite amazing.

Liked: Location couldn't be better - the big sites of Sultanahment are literally on the doorstep. Breakfast was included in the price, though don't expect too much.. Roof terrace has fantastic views of the Sea of Marmara. Basement dorms are clean. Some of the staff were indifferent to downright rude - definitely something that needs some thought on their part but not a reason to avoid this hostel. All in all, would appear to be good value for money (though I didn't stay at any other Istanbul hostels, so can't really compare).
