Liked: The best thing with the hostel is the rooftop terrace and bar, with a nice barman and a great wiev over Hagia Sofia and the Blue Mosque. The price was ok and the staff friendly.

Disliked: The cleanliness of the toilets and the rooms was quite poor. The floor in my room was really dirty and the toilets and showers were not that enjoyable... There was only three showers and toilets for the whole hostel, wich was quite annoying. The free brekfast was ok, better than just white bread and jam. But they could still improve. The thing that I disliked was that the staff was trying to get people to give the best rating to the hostel.

Liked: Staff are very helpful, energic and create a great atmosphere. Fantastic location, close to the city and trams. All round great hostel to experience Turkey. You can see dolphins from the roof top terrace.

Liked: Localization

Disliked: The room size is too small, no air conditioning and dirty roof. The toilets are VERY bad, no lights in the shower and very smelly and old!

Liked: The location was great - it was close proximity to the main city area & that end of the street was reasonablky quiet. The eating/lounge area was pleasant & sunny with overlooking views. The staff were friendly & helpful.

Liked: It was a great location, and it was clean and safe. However, I get a terrible cold and couldn't sleep well because the rooms were not heated sufficiently and the blankets were thin. This was partially corrected when I complained. My first room, in the basement, was also hard to bare, as it was dank, tiny, and had no hooks or anything even to hang a coat. It was just two beds and a small bed-side table between them, a broken heater, and almost no other space. The second room was decent, though. And I appreciated the staff that ran the front desk.

Liked: The bed in this hostel was the worst I have ever slept on. It felt like metal spikes were poking into my back all night. We couldn't wait to leave after two nights (we moved down the road to the Moonstar hostel). As for everything else: the toilet is a hole with no flush, the sinks are tiny and not enough to go round, the shower I couldn't even bring myself to use (we went to a hamam instead). There are no duvets, only dirty-looking blankets, and our room was next to the 24hr reception and had paper-thin walls. The breakfast is nothing special: bread, white cheese, jam and rancid butter. You'd be far better off eating delicious simit and börek from the sellers nearby. On the positive side, the view from the terrace is nice, and the staff were reasonably friendly. But I wouldn't recommend this hotel by any means - if you do want to try it though, don't get conned into paying upfront for your whole stay - book one night first and see if you like it - if not, there's no shortage of other places in the area.

Liked: Nice view on Aya Sofia and Bosphore, nice terrace with its own atmosphere and music. You can meet nice people. Nevertheless I would not recommend it if you are picky. Some aspects could disappoint you.
