Liked: very friendly people, great view from terrace on the roof (which is actually inside so you can sit there all evening talking to people, also there is a really nice atmosphere in this room), free internet

Disliked: bathrooms, a bit broken and dirty

Liked: the location

Disliked: The showers were ugly. I prefer to spend 35euro to go the Hamam. I should be glad because because I had little windows in my basement room, I saw that some room haven't windows at all!

Liked: Excellent location, just behind Sultanahmet square with great views from the 'Eagle's nest' bar. Having said that...

Disliked: We stayed down in the basement and the room was dirty and smelt very, very musty with an horribly uncomfortable bed . We did get a glimpse of the dorms upstairs and they looked better. All bathrooms are shared and don't seem to be cleaned very often, being dirty and filled with an awful stench of mould. Despite it's price and location, the old area of Istanbul is not very big and I think it would be worthwhile looking for something else a little further afield.

Liked: Location in Sultan Ahmet and the nice terrace ot the roof. Breakfast is included in the price.

Disliked: The showers and toilets were a mess! Mold over and over, I would definatetly NOT rebook this hostel. 2 Toilets and one "traditional" toilet (a hole in the floor) for the whole hostel. The bed looked used and you can not lock the rooms with a key.

Liked: first i liked the location because it is in the center of many touristic places..and also near the down town and pubs and retaurants.then there is a very friendly mood..andthe owner and his family arevery nice and very welcoming people.

Liked: location i guess.

Disliked: Crammed so many beds in one room that there was no floor space and I ended up losing clothes in the confusion of having nowhere to put any backpacks. Generally an irritating place with a creepy owner. Disgustingly hot only 2 toilets in the whole hostel

Liked: Owners were very friendly. Very hospitable Hostel. Clean, relaxing, great view on the roof terrace. It is also very close to all the city attractions. Best island hostel will always be the place to stay for me and will be the first hostel in my mind to recommend to the friends. Ahtamara

Liked: Nothing, but the location is okay.

Disliked: The Hostel rooms but especially the bathrooms are really dirty - it has nothing to do with being a hostel, it is totally unhygienic! A pigeon had its nest in the bathroom window. When we arrived, our room was not clean, you could see that the bed was used, and we found a used condom in the trash - later we found out that a hostelmember had some fun in our room.... Even though we told them we wanted to get our money back when we arrived because of the things happened which i described before, they were not willing to talk about that at all. We offered to pay two nights (same as in the cancellation policy) but they didn´t accept!

Liked: Staff were friendly and the location is very central to sultanahmets main attractions

Disliked: We were supposed to stay at best island however we were moved to the hostel next to theirs because they had run out of spaces. We were moved into a cramped small room next to a toilet that looked like it had not been washed/cleaned for months and smelt very bad which effected our rooms overall atmosphere. Our first night was excellent however on the second day when we returned from our shopping, all our luggage was thrown out of the rooms with the zips and bags all open which also had our passports and money in. Somebody else had been given our room without informing us and without any care for our belongings. This was blamed on for "miscommunication" between the staff and management who thought we were staying for one night however they could not justify leaving our luggage open and easily accessable to everyone in the building rather than to be put in the secure place for us to collect. I complained to the best western staff who appologised deeply and offered complimentry drinks, sheesha and snacks on the roof top later that night fre of charge to make up for what happened.

Liked: The staff was great, really helpful. There is a terrace upstairs with a magnificent view- you can see the Blue mosque, Saint Sofia and the sea. A really nice place to start your day watching the sea and having breakfast :)))

Liked: location was good. rooftop view. free wi-fi in the room and in the common areas. cool staff. free breakfast. fan in the room.

Disliked: small rooms with only one outlet for charging items. 3rd floor shower was not working well. alittle pricy, but more of a cause due to the loctaion. relating to other hostels in the same area, the price was resonable.

Liked: It is only good and I mean only good, if you are a young male and want to party

Disliked: Most things. Things were not done when promised and the place was like a squat, I would have had better living conditions living in an abandoned house
