Liked: Location, friendly staff

Disliked: The room was in a fifth floor without lift. The stairs were very narrow and it was difficult to get up the suitcases.

Liked: Super friendly and helpful staff, assisted with further bookings, and were aware of local scams. Well priced, excellent clean facilities, and the location is nothing short of perfect. Very short walk to the major Sultanhamet sights.

Liked: It was very close to the main touristic areas The property was very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful upon request. They demonstrated intention to improve and develop so that they provide a top service in such a competitive business.

Disliked: It was difficult to sleep due to the cars' noise from outside. A noise insulation would improve the service tremendously.

Liked: It had a really good location between the tourist sites in Sultanhamet and the ferry (both were less than a 5 min walk away).

Disliked: The common area upstairs didn't have A/C or a fan.

Liked: The location is central to all th major sites and has lots of food, shops, and such. The staff is lovely and the breakfast in the rooftop terrace is a great place to chat with other travelers. I had such a wonderful time at secondhome, I highly recommend it. Probably the best hostel I stayed at in all of my Europe trip. Also they helped me arrange a visit to a hamman- do it. A-mazing.

Liked: Very easy to find from the instructions given. Easy walking distance to all the major attractions and close to restaurants and bars. Cool, comfortable dorm room with good shelf storage and a great shower. Fantastic to get a free shuttle to the airport just through booking with Hostel Bookers.

Disliked: From nearly 15 hostels over 2 months, at Second Home I received my least friendly welcome. No maps to give. The ground level common room is very sterile and doesn't promote interaction with fellow guests. Some sofas and long table rather than small tables would be better.

Liked: we were given a 5 bed suite for the two of us! The bathrooms were really clean and the staff is so welcoming and friendly it truly felt like a second home!

Liked: The staff is very very friendly and helpful, the location is amazing, just 5 minutes from Haghia Sophia. COmfortable, clean, good breakfast, internet.

Liked: The guys that worked there were awesome. Gave you honest opinions about what to do and where to go, not as if they had been paid by that company. They held a dinner night so all the guests could meet and eat local food, it was awesome!

Liked: The staff especially Cancan is very helpful and pleasant. My stay was very relaxing and the hostel is very well located. I had a great stay.

Liked: Service was friendly and breakfast was reasonably good, including hard boiled eggs and apple tea. The bathrooms were clean with good water pressure and consistent hot water. The hostel was in a good position close to the main sights in Istanbul. The hostel took people out in a group to sample the Istanbul nightlife on most nights. Free wifi worked well.The dorm rooms looked good, though we stayed in a private room.

Disliked: Our private room was small and hot given that it cost the same as the budget hotel rooms in the area, which offered air conditioning. We chose to stay at the hostel to meet other travellers but next time may choose a budget hotel.
