Liked: EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT. Seriously. Clean hostel, very frinedly staff, great breakfast with fresh vegetables and fruits. Amazing value! Best hostel I've ever stayed at in Europe.

Liked: The location was great, the staff of the hotel really helpful and nice . The rooms were quite comfortable and the bathrooms always clean. Everything was well organized and relevant to its level. The stay was a great pleasure.

Liked: Great location, free use of hostel computers.

Disliked: It costs 2 euro to use the kitchen?! Although we didn't have to...I guess because it's low season.

Liked: The staff were very friendly and the building/rooms were exceptionally clean and tidy. Breakfast was great.

Disliked: Nothing. We stayed during the winter so the temperature in the building was great. I did notice though that the rooms did not have a/c, only fans...so I would imagine that it could be a very hot place to stay in the summer.

Liked: super friendly staff that will happily help you with all your trip planning needs, respond to complaints or requests you might have; clean, amazing location; most communal atmosphere of any hostel I stayed in so far as fostered by management

Disliked: Not a whole lot of space to put your stuff in the dorm rooms, but upon my mentioning this, I think they might already be working to fix this with extra shelves or similar

Liked: Breakfast was good, though not the greatest in Turkey. Redeeming features would be decent fittings & fixtures.

Disliked: Dormitory is a noisy unventilated cave with a couple of long-stays and well-used bathrooms. I wouldn't wish to stay there for very long. It was OK for a night. Laundry, using the kitchen and even having a shower after check-out were all expensive 'extras'.

Liked: Easy to get to from Attaturk Airport, friendly staff, free internet, free breakfast, good proximity to major tourist sites and within reach of Taksim (night life area).

Disliked: Hard to tell how fun it is, since it was a bit quiet when I was there. But I did manage to make friends with all, but one, of my dorm mates.

Liked: Its not often I am driven to write puffy reviews about hostels but on this occasion I will happily make an exception. Simply put, the Second Home Hostel in Istanbul is one of the best hostels I have stayed in anywhere. It is spotless from the ground floor reception all the way up to the roof top lounge/breakfast room/internet studio. With good simple breakfasts, a quiet reflective atmosphere and attentive staff, it is one of those places that you dream about staying in but so rarely find. And the location is the tops - within 5 minutes walk of Sirceki Station, within 10 minutes of the Aya Sofia and on top of a myriad of cafes, restaurants and bars. As Nigel Tufnell of Spinal Tap would say, 'this one goes to an 11' . . .

Liked: Great central location, very helpful staff, if you arrive on the night bus they try to get you into your room as soon as they can. Really clean bathrooms.

Liked: Staffs are very helpful and friendly..Good location where we can walk to all tourist sites in Sultanhamet area. If you love sightseeing, Taksim is not too far to visit by feet.

Liked: Friendly welcome, helpful staff (e.g. they let me use a mobile for a local call), very clean.

Disliked: Breakfast was a little rushed with many people waiting for seats, but not a major problem if you ate breakfast later.

Liked: Good location, helpful and friendly english speaking staff. Good fast internet access and wifi. Breasfast is included and was fine for me.

Disliked: Some stret noise as they are constructing new subway nearby and seem to work through the nıght. You need to be fıt as breakfast is served on top floor (good for working off last nights excesses).
