Liked: Nur Frühstück einiger Massen essbar, NUR MIT Pulver-Kaffee und gratis Zugang zum Internet.

Disliked: Furchtbar unfreundliche 2 Portier, einer Mustafa genannt. Alles ungepflegt, sogar die Tischtücher dreckig, knitterig - nicht gebügelt. Essraum ist mit dem Eingang und der Rezeption und den Treppenhäusern zusammen und sehr klein, sehr ungepflegt. Die äussere Umgebung auch recht unangenehm und nicht gepflegt. Im TV hat es nur türkische Programme und keine andere. Und schlechter Empfang ! ! !

Liked: The location is very good, right near all the famous sights in Istanbul, restaurants, markets. The staff are very helpful and happy. 24hour reception very handy. Breakfast included is always important for travellers on a budget. The bathrooms are a little dated.

Disliked: no room cleaning or clean linen, shower / toilet small and mouldy/flaking plaster. (clean towels would probably have been provided if we had asked)

Liked: The location and staff at this hotel far outweigh the negative aspects of this establishment. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and the location is ideal. The rooms are just what you would expect, given the price, and the bathroom, while not ensuite, is clean and nice. The shower has great pressure and ample hot water. The breakfast provided is simple but very tasty - consisting of olives, hard-boiled egg, cheese, yogurt, bread, butter, jam, bologna, coffee and tea. Internet - both several desktops and wi-fi was very fast.

Disliked: The rooms are rather small and dorm-like. The bathroom in shared between three rooms. The balcony has a nice view, but is not in great shape. Overall, the building is old and the rooms are basic, but it is a nice place to stay on a budget.

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: The dorms are so small, not enough room for four people and bags, it was totally claustrophobic. The bathroom was a toilet cubicle with a shower on the wall. Moved to a double after the first night. Used their recomendation for a travel agent to book bus tickets and were left at 11.30pm waiting outside for a shuttle that "forgot" us! Got the hotel to arrange another one after much difficulty with language and got to the later/last over night bus with minutes to spare. Never use Indigo travel and I don't recomend this hostel! Oh and I had to pay full price and didn't get the deposit I had paid deducted!

Liked: This is a convenient place to stay with an easy walk to all major attractions. The rooms are basic but very clean and secure. The breakfast on the lovely terrace (looking over the water) is of a good quality compared to other hotels in Turkey. The staff are very helpful and friendly. A good place to stay!

Liked: Although the rooms are very basic the staff are extremely helpful and you really cant beat the location. Very reasonibly priced for where it is, only about a 5 (in a slight heal over cobbles) minutes to Aya Sofa and The Blue Mosque.

Liked: Located down a narrow side street and away from the main streets of Sultanahmet, it is in a quiet location, but can be hard to navigate around if you haven't stayed in Istanbul before.We stayed in a building a few doors down from the actual hotel which was obviously completely sub standard compared to the main hotel. The stairs are small, winding and slanted to one side, as are the floors and, on the top floor, the ceilings which are just bits of wood with carpet on top.The bathroom was small and when you shower it soaks everything and the floor is flooded for hours as the drain is situated behind the toilet for some reason.Pluses include a television (though it has very poor reception and other channels can be seen underneath the one you are watching) and helpful staff who speak fluent English. Breakfast is included and is the standard Turkish spread.Overall, I would NOT recommend this property. It is very overpriced for what it is considering I have stayed at better places in Istanbul for a lot less.

Liked: It is a very nice choice for low budget travellers, very friendly stuff and they accept cards..It is an old hotel but clean and it is for sleep only, quiet area...

Liked: Very centrally located to all main sites in Istanbul, and on a quiet street. Self serve breakfast on the terrace is nice. Get a room in the main building, because the secondary building seems to be for overflow and is a little old and dingy. The hostel is on a side road, just a little difficult to find, but in a great location with friendly staff.
