Liked: paramount among my expectations of accomodation is always cleanliness and Maramara did not dissappoint. İn addition the family is friendly and helpful, the food is great (you,re saving at least 15 lira a day with this breakfast) and it is located right in the heart of old İstanbul. We travelled with a 7 year old and this was an excellent choice for a family.

Disliked: We are Canadian and like a cool room. We found the duvets a bit warm and the room a little warm.

Liked: The location was fantastic within the old town and the most famous buildings only a few minutes away. The owners were very well informed about all the possibilities in Istanbul and were very helpful to explain, arrange, order evrything you asked for

Disliked: Nothing, but you must not expect a spacious room and a luxurious bathroom!!!

Liked: The large breakfasts: self service and come back for more, especially the yoghurt and homemade fruit compotes of quince, cherry and apricot. The breakfast terrace overlooking the Bosphorus. The ability of the owners to pick up the phone and make arrangements such as booking airport transfers.

Liked: Lovely guesthouse right next to the Blue Mosque & Hagia Sophia. Clean big rooms, nice new bathrooms, good breakfast, friendly and helpful... great place.

Liked: Really clean, and great breakfast, and good wifi. Nice rooftop area too.

Disliked: Note that the google map on the hostel bookers site has the green arrow in the wrong location. Go by their drawn in map, or just google the address that they provide.

Liked: It was really relaxed and comfortable. The location is fantastic. The breakfast was great. But best of all was the assistance provided by Elif. She has incredible travel knowledge and nothing was too difficult for her to help us with. The tours and experiences that she recommends are spot-on for great Istanbul experiences!

Liked: What a fantastic place to stay. So clean and tidy - the families attention to detail is perfect. We really enjoyed our stay much more than the hotels in the area. Very personal touch with everything you could want and such friendly service. Free access to internet with computer on site and beautiful breakfast! I would highly recommend to anyone looking for accomodation in Istanbul - quiet little paradise in the heart of the tourist area!Thanks for such an amazing stay!

Liked: Excellent breakfasts and wonderful view over the Bosphorus. Owners very helpful with excellent English, and quickly rang a shop for us to sort out a problem. A quiet street so slept very well.

Liked: We had booked a room with shared facilities but they were just finishing off renovations and now only have private bathrooms. We were the first to stay in our room. The service and hospitality was excellent. The breakfast included was one of the best we have had in our month of travel around the Middle East, made even better by the views from the roof top terrace.When we first checked in WiFi was only available on the terrace but 1/2 way through our stay they upgraded their modem and we had wifi in our room.
