Liked: The place was quiet and close to the main "attractions" in the old city. Despite they only accept cash and they overcharged, the price was cheap and enough for our needs.

Disliked: When we arrived we were told that we were given the room with private bathroom but it could change anytime. We had to ask every day if that would be our last day with private bathroom. This was NOT a choice when booking!? Besides, they ONLY ACCEPT CASH and we only had the required amount in Turkish Lira so we paid with the worst change ever!!! (250 when it was 240 in the worst exchange office) This means that we paid extra 10€ for nothing! VERY BAD! Still they made us feel that it was because of having the private bath. It seems the staff won a HostelBookers award few years ago. Definetely the current staff is NOT that one who won the award. The cleanliness and ambiance were also below expectations!! Maybe in summer it gets better?

Liked: So far the best hostel i have ever been. It was the perfect spot, great location, super clean, very helpful and fun people, everything you need from a hostel!! i will recommend without doubt. We will be back!

Liked: After arrival they make you feel right at home. The activities they organised were very nice, and everyone was so friendly. Amazing roof bar with nice views. Good breakfast.

Liked: Very nice, clean and innovative hostel, good atmosphere, right in the middle of old town istanbul with extremely sympathic and helpful people working there! Definitely worth a visit

Liked: Excellent hostel and restaurant. Super friendly staff at hostel and great waiters at restaurant. They really made our trip great.

Liked: Metropolis hostel was great. lt was recommended to me by some travelers l met while travelling in turkey. Staff was nice and very helpful. The bar is a great place to meet new people. l will definetely tell my friends to stay here.

Liked: Fab hostel and location. Close to all main sights and tram stop. The surrounding area was lively with lots of restaurant , cafe and bars. The staff was incredible friendly and willing to bend over backwards to help. Excellent breakfast at roof, probably the best one l've had in a hostel. Would stay here again.

Liked: Great location for tourism (nightlife better at Taksim, over the river), with an amazing rooftop view outlooking Asia, where breakfast (good) takes place.

Disliked: Definitely some of the unfriendliest staff I've ever experienced. Dunno why, but the guys at the reception were generally moody and unkeen on helping. Felt like I'd be hassling to ask for directions...

Liked: Probably the best area to stay in Istanbul. Great location. Private room was adequate, staying in 2nd hostel (above restaurant) and was fine. Closest ATM is up near blue mosque though.

Disliked: Staff weren't the most helpful. When we wanted to book a taxi to the airport, they insisted we prepay 20 euros to them for the taxi. However, taxis to the airport will only cost 30-35 lira. (13 euro). Beware taxi's, even with a meter running, will try rip you off. half way through our trip our taxi meter changed from normal to a flashing of jumbled numbers. The driver had his hand on the gear stick, so we couldn't see it. He tried charging us 48 lira when we got to the airport. And he was an old bloke who appeared nice and genuine so beware!

Liked: Awesome! Can not say enough good things about Metropolis hostel. Nice, comfortable beds, clean showers with lots of hot water. Excellent complimentary breafast and internet. Cheap transfer to airport and cheap tours.

Liked: The Hostel was clean, well located, had fantastic rooms and a nice view. The staff was very friendly and I felt very much at home there.

Liked: This was a great hostel with all the amenities one might need on a short term stay. Decent rooms, great roof bar with views for a great time with chilled beer. The owner/staff were great hosts. They really made our stay enjoyable. Location was very convenient.
