Liked: 1. location 2. clean. I heard complains from other guest about the shower. I don't know if this is true, I was going to Turkish bath for bathing. 3. Breakfast is fine.

Disliked: 1. I book three nights for a 4 bed room and paid for it. First night, they put me in a 6 bed room. They didn't tell me nothing. So, they cheat me 50 cents (euro). I don't care about 50 cents, but I find that it's not an honest business. The second day I arrive at 19:00 to my room and I find a group of girls telling me that I have to move. I think that they can tell me the first day that I have to move the second day. I don't like this way of treating customers. 2. I don't find super friendly staff, as other reviewers said. But, I'm not a woman. 3. The two internet-laptops were not working properly (this is a minor complain). 4. They don't allow to bring food or drinks to the lounge area, because they want to sell them to you. * If I comeback to Istanbul, I will not choose this hostel again because I don't find it a honest hostel (as I stated in point 1.)

Liked: Amazing hostel. Super friendly hosts. very clean room and great breakfast. I have met lots of nice people and atmosphere at roof bar is great with excellent ocean view. We got all we could get from a hostel.

Liked: For sightseeing and hanging out in general this place is fantastic! They have a rooftop bar that is open during the summer but during winter most people stay inside.

Disliked: The metropolis cafe, where breakfast is served, will hassle you relentlessly for more business when you walk past.

Liked: Location couldn't be better. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Disliked: NOISE! If your room is near the staircase, you better have your earplugs. They have old hardwood floors and an apparent lack of insulation. Wouldn't recommend it for a private.

Liked: Awesome hostel in amazing istanbul. We really loved the hostel and istanbul. Roof top is a great place to start a day. Free computers and wifi, excellent breakfast, fun place and we met lots of nice people. Staff is legen and they are really helpful.

Liked: excellent hostel, excellent staff, excellent breakfast. l never got service like this at any other place. Great job.

Liked: The hostel is in a great location, right near the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofia. There are loads of restaurants close by too. The rooms are clean and the staff are super friendly.

Disliked: The rooms are a little cramped, but one person's "cramped" is another person's "cosy"...

Liked: The location is great. The view from the roof top is great.

Disliked: Staff was a bit unhelpful, or I guess less helpful than they claimed to be on their website. I got much better service visiting other hostels in the area, which is why I switched to another hostel. Also they weren't super friendly or engaging with the guests. Other people there experienced unsatisfactory service when they were forced to pay for an airport shuttle that never showed up or a 3rd day's accommodation that they needed to cancel because a friend in town invited them to stay. That is all part of travel and 2 days notice to cancel a reservation is plenty of time. This hostel could improve significantly on customer service.

Liked: One of the best hostel l've stayed by so far. Staff is legend and they are very friendly and helpful and always going out of their way and make sure that you are having good time. Good location and best roof bar and view.The best breakfast l have had in a hostel.

Liked: Very clean, excellent breakfast and fantastic views from the terrace (good place to meet people). A comical cleaning lady.

Disliked: No kitchen facilities - make sure you budget for eating out every night. All restaurants around hostel are tourist-priced so expect to walk a fair distance to eat on a budget.

Liked: it is my first time staying in hostel and l really love it. Metropolis Hostel is a great hostel. l met tons of nice people and had great time. Location is great and staff is very friendly and helpful. Roof top is great place to smoke and have cheap efes beer.

Liked: The staff are very nice and helpful. It is a great hostel if you want to meet other travellers and it is very clean, safe, and friendly. And extremely close to all attractions! We have ended up staying here for our entire holiday in Turkey.

Disliked: Rooms directly under the common area upstairs can be noisy in the evening, but the curfew of midnight for the common area is enforced, so after midnight all is quiet.

Liked: Nice hostel and very good atmospeher. Hostel has lots of caracter. You should definetly try some turkish food at metropolis restaurant beside free breakfast. Staff is really friendly and helpfull at both metropolis hostel and restaurant. Cheap drinks at roof bar with amazing sea view. Also it is better to take the hostel airport pick up/drop off. The public transportation is kind of unsafe. Lots of fun in hostel and hood but if you are party people you should definetly go to taksim which is just 5 mins taxi ride.

Disliked: it is hard to find a fault.
