Liked: The men who worked a the hostel were very nice and offered ice creams to guests in the night time heat! It's very close to the Blue Mosque, Ayasofia etc. Good night life street.

Disliked: Unclean bathrooms - when I got there the shower was blocked up and flooded through the whole bathroom and the bathroom door handle didn't work so you had to pee with the door ajar. Loud and hot rooms.

Liked: This is a fantastic hostel. Everything is clean, the rooms are good with aircon, the staff are amazing, the breakfast is very good. They have a lovely rooftop terrace where you can relax and have a drink and meet people and talk to the guys that run the hostel. I had a very good time here and I will go back. As a girl travelling alone, I felt very comfortable here.

Disliked: nothing- it was perfect

Liked: The owner, Yusuf, is the most helpful guy I've ever met in hostel staff. He will give you advice on where to go in Istanbul, how to get there, what to do and will even let you print things off his computer. There is a beautiful terrace on the roof where you can see the sunset over the city and have a few drinks with fellow travellers. There is A/C is every room and a good breakfast in the mornings. The rooms are made up and cleaned every day and I always felt very secure there, which was important as I was travelling by myself. As well as all of this, the hostel is located very centrally, near all the big sights like Aya Sofya, the Blue Mosque, starting points for bus tours, the Grand Bazaar etc. I really enjoyed my stay. O and did I mention, free wifi and internet use!??!

Disliked: Absolutely nothing!

Liked: 1. The location. It's very close to Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Aarasta Bazaar, Topkapi Palace and other key attractions of Old Istanbul. Also we have found some good restaurants near this hostel. 2. The breakfast is quite okay, and you can have sea view while you dine.

Disliked: 1. The Internet does not work beyond the second floor of this hostel. Our room was on the third with sea view, meaning we have paid the premium. But didn't have the net connection. Even worse, the staff/management know about this problem and is totally indifferent. 2. We chose to extend our stay by one more day. They were suppose to give us a similar room. Instead we got an inferior room but had to pay the same price.

Liked: Staff are very helpful! It is also located right in the middle of most of the attractions. All major sites can be covered by foot. I was scheduled to take the 7am bus to the airport, initially missing the breakfast which starts at 830am, however the staff offered some bread for me in the morning to eat during my bus ride!

Liked: Location comes first when speaking about the hotel. So close to the main attractions, you couldn't even wish for more! The breakfast was good (tomato, cucumber, olives, white cheese, one type of meat each day, eggs, jams butter and bread). They serve coffee and 3-4 types of tee, but all of these are of instant powders. (Same goes for the free coffee and tee they mention.) The terrace may be a fantastic place to have your meals or have a chat. Great view to the Sea of Marmara and the Princes' Island. They serve the breakfast one floor under the terrace (in bad weather like we had), so you will have some look on the sea even in bad weather. The staff is friendly to everyone - that means their friends, maybe relatives too who often pay a visit to the hotel. But they are all nice and friendly and polite people too, so there is no need to feel disturbed at all. The ensuites are relatively small, but the beds are comfortable and the bathroom is clean (and modern) too. Magyarok! : Otthagytam Robert Graves: Vitéz Belizár c. regényét, olvassatok bele a 176-190. oldal között, meg esetleg a végét kb. 480-tól a végéig. Megéri, kiváló képet ad a mostani Hagia Szófia építésének előzményéről! :)

Disliked: Although I have booked the room almost 6 month ago which they confirmed and I have payed the 10% fee, they couldn't provide me the exact room. They offered another ensuite on the first level, but it's window was looking at the back of the other building instead of the street. Hamdu at the reception sorted that and after the first night we could move to the room we had booked. The hotel lacks a kind of style or athmosphere. A painting on the computer room would be a great addition to the propety. And maybe some more books on the bookshelf would mean an improvement too!

Liked: Its in a great location (sultanahmet), breakfast wasn't too bad.

Disliked: The dorm room we stayed in wasn't locked, neither was the main door. They do have 24 hour reception though... Even if he's sleeping. No lockers in dorms. The thing that really upset me is that they claim to have kitchen facilities but really it's just used for breakfast prep in the morning and by staff so there's barely room for your stuff in the fridge. The staff/locals are always hanging out nearby and stare at you if you try to use the kitchen... They also claim that you cannot bring your own drinks into the hostel because they sell their own, which i think its pretty ridiculous.
