The hospitality of the staff was wonderful and welcoming. They were very friendly and helpful in directing us as to where to go to get the most of our trip to Istanbul. Great chats about the world at reception over sweet cups of tea!

We really enjoyed our stay at Big Apple. The people were really friendly, breakfast was great, and you can't beat the location. I would definitely stay here again.

Very good price, especially because the pair of us had a four bed room mostly to ourselves. Staff very helpful (immediately sorted an ant problem in our room, arranged pickup for us from sabiha gokcen airport), breakfast is included and the place is very clean. There was a slight issue with the drainage one day (the water went off) but it was fixed fairly quickly (you get what you pay for really). Everyone staying was very nice but would definitely not describe it as a party hostel. It's just off one of the main touristy streets in that area so is ideal for sightseeing, restaurants etc. As two girls we didn't feel too threatened walking around there at night (though would recommend being close to home by around 10). All in all would tell other people to stay there.

The location was great for the Hagia Sofya, Blue Mosque, and General Shopping Areas
Staff was very friendly and hospitable, and even though our original reservations were messed up they helped us find an equally matched place to stay

The location is fantastic - it's close to everything in Sultanhamet - the Blue Mosque and the Aya Sophia are REALLY close. The facilities themselves are poorly done, and the water supply is spotty.

This was a recommended location; we stayed for over 10 days without any problems. The staff cleaned the bedsheets any day (on demand or whenever somebody moves on), they arranged travel, breakfast every day. The other travelers were also fun: talkative Brit, globetrotting Irish, adventurous New Zealander, eager Chilean, quiet Americans, open-minded Polish, and passing-through Swedes. Best location, and we have already passed along this place to 2 friends from school; one enjoys it, the other wished she checked her email first! The staff is very friendly (Ismail, Pasha, Ercan, etc) and they are very understanding should you need help (directions with taxi driver) or hospital company (even in the middle of the night).

the guys are extremely helpful, providing everything from advice on travel and safety to low priced beers at night or a handful of coffees in the morning. vibe was excellent and very conducive to meeting other guests and sharing a night out. not too noisy if you want to relax for the day too. brilliant spot.

When we arrived, the staff made sure we were comfortable and offered us a cup of tea. We had booked the cheapest beds, in a large 14-person dormitory, but they gave us our own room anyway. Staff was always very friendly and helpful; when I return to Istanbul I will stay here again.

cheapest hostel in istanbul, but you get everything the more expensive hostels provide. the staff is great, those guys are REALLY friendly and VERY helpful (especially if you're a cute female.. hahaha! but they are nice to everyone!) THEY REALLY SHOW TRUE TURKISH HOSPITALITY. nice lil' breakfast and tea every morning. and the location of the hostel is perfect, literaly 1-2 minute walk to all the big touristy sites and to the tram. + many good cafe's and restaurants on the same street.
