Liked: I ended up at the Tulip Guesthouse after a sketchy reservation with an AirBnB.com owner and I am so glad I did. The location was beyond PERFECT (3 mins to Topkapi, Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, tram station) with gorgeous rooms (in-room bathroom), delicious breakfast daily, and a great view of the Bosphorus from the top-floor dining room. I would stay here again in a heart beat and recommend it without reserve to anyone who wants to stay somewhere budget in Istanbul. There's free wifi, lots of great places to eat nearby, and one of the owners gave me the BEST tip to take the public ferry up the Bosphorus to Eyup for 1.75TL instead of paying more for a harbour cruise.

Disliked: Nothing, everything was perfect.

Liked: Not nearly as big and new as it appears in the photograph; quite narrow rooms, halls and stairways, but definetely money's worth. Very well situated and the staff is fantastic.

Disliked: Bathroom floors could have been wiped more often; water on the floor.

Liked: The hostel owner Mehmet is a really cheerful and friendly person; he's always have something to talk about. On the last day after check out we went out for a walk in Istanbul for the whole day and we left our luggage at his place. Before leaving, he invited us for a hot cup of steaming Turkish tea and offered us a few slices of cakes. More than we could expect! The rooms are quaint and modest, yet clean and warm.

Disliked: Nothing!

Liked: Staff were excellent - very friendly, knowledgeable and fun. Location was great - right in Sultanahmet, so you're within walking distance to about half of the tourist sites. Other places not far by metro. Breakfast was delicious if you like the Turkish breakfast.

Disliked: A little tricky to find at first, and my shower's temperature would fluctuate sometimes (I guess when there were too many people taking showers, so not an uncommon problem). The only common room was the kitchen/dining area at the top floor (but it had a decent view!)

Liked: The whole stays was perfect.Everyone helpful and the breakfast was great.The savoury feta cheese pancakes were amazing.A very clean and cared for place to stay.The access to a computer in the dining area.

Disliked: there was nothing i disliked.Except access to a television would have been nice.

Liked: the staff is very friendly and communicative. they will help you out on whatever they can and you feel how the hostel works as a house. they have a nice cosy kitchen with a big breakfast and its very well located.

Liked: Hostel ini membuatkan saya rasa seperti rumah sendiri. Staff-staff di hostel ini sangat friendly dan tidak rasa ganjil untuk tinggal di sini. Jika travel dalam group bagi lelaki, boleh ajak Metin untuk bermain futsal. Bayarannya juga murah dan sesuaı untuk semua. Jika ada masalah boleh je beritahu diorang dan mereka akan tolong kita. Tiada curfew di sini so boleh keluar dan masuk bila2 masa. Rumah bersih. Satu lagı perkara, di sini ramai foreigner datang esp. Korean, Italian dan sebagainya, jadilah ambillah peluang untuk mengenali mereka. ;)

Disliked: Sume ok je. Rileks suda.

Liked: Everything. We stayed here two separate tımes. Each was a great experience. The staff made the stay incredible. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic, the best one we had the entire time we were in Turkey. İf you are coming to İstanbul, stay here. İt's right next to Hagia Sophia and The Blue Mosque as well as Topkapi Palace. Walking distance to the metro! Stay Here! .

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Friendly staff and helpful, clean room. And I like the rabbit of the owner there.

Disliked: Slightly loud sound from outside of the room because I stayed at the first floor so I could hear when whoever came in.

Liked: the staff, Metin, Enes and Ferida, are wonderful people! we travelled to Cappadocia and Pamukale and should go back to Istanbul to catch the flight, stayed there again for one night. while we travelled, we put our heavy luggages there for almost a week for free :)

Liked: One of the best hostels I ever stayed. Simple and clean. The position in perfect into the earth of Sultanahmet. The staff is super friendly and helped us a lot. A special thanks to Enis (hope I wrote exactly your name) for the narghilè night :D

Liked: It was a totally familar atmosphere there with its own charme. Had a lot of fun with the stuff. Coming back soon ^^

Disliked: Everything was fine. But it's nothing for people, who are searching for a five stars hotel service.

Liked: It's a fantastic hostel, the two brothers running the place are the sweetest, and they even made accomodation for me when a clerical error caused them to be overbooked. Really I couldn't speak higher of the staff and the hostel in general.

Disliked: Not much to dislike at all.

Liked: The staff was very polite and kind, the breakfast was excellent. Atmosphere was really friendly. The location was perfect.

Disliked: When booking, contact the hostel and ask them not to allot you one of those rooms behind the reception desk, because you may not be comfortable with all those noises around the desk.

Liked: I liked Tulip Guesthouse for its good location right in the heart of Sultanahmet, friendly and pleasant stuff, great and abundant breakfasts, served in an upper floor room with a splendid Marmara Sea view..The Guesthouse has wireless internet and a public PC free to use to all guests. The room was well heated.

Disliked: When we arrived, the bathroom had a stale smell which persisted during our stay, probably due to its scarce ventilation system.

Liked: me and my sister we have got very nice time with METIN and ENES very nice atmoshere, perfect breakfast and view:-) very good location also near to all sightseeings.everybody should come for a smile therapy:)

Disliked: that i lost playing backgamon with metin :)

Liked: Location - staff - Kahavalti.

Disliked: They have slipped a bit from the first time I was there. No place to do a little wash and to hang out a line. I am not talking about a huge load - just a couple of socks and jocks. They have the space and should make it possible. With this - It will be much sort after and they won't have the issue of socks/jocks drying off the bed posts.

Liked: The owner Metin is very helpful. Talk to him and you will feel at home! :)

Disliked: The internet was intermittently off and on but Metin quickly solved the problem the next morning.
