Liked: Every person who works at this hostel is amazing and very helpful! This is the best hostel I have stayed at in Europe! It is a very cheap guest house with an outstanding breakfast. The Breakfast actually has bread, Great jam, Fresh Fruit, Delicious white cheese, yogurt, and Some great Turkish foods as well!!!!!! Metin the owner is a very fun, he will suggest many places to go in the city and always follow his great advice. If Metin ever invites you to do anything with him go he will make you experience Istanbul in a way that you cannot imagine!!! The rooms are Very good size and the building itself has Beautiful views of the Sea!! If you go to Istanbul this is a must stay. DO NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!! The Location is Perfect only three or four very short Blocks from the Blue Mosque!!! Also it is in a nice quite area!! Stay here and you will remember Istanbul fondly!!!!!!!!!!!

Liked: The guys that worked at the hostel were fantastic always friendly and sociable. If we had any questions they were happy to help.However our double room wasn't worth what we paid for it, the room was tiny and the shower room was small and had the shower without a curtain etc. I have stayed in worse places but i expected a bit more after reading all the reviews on the websites.

Liked: I thought I would stay here only 3 nights in a private room, but I ended up extending my stay an extra 2 nights and felt no need to switch hostels. They were really flexible and allowed me to move from my private room into the dorm for my extra nights. Both the dorm-style rooms and the private rooms were cleaned everyday and the hostel is generally in really good shape. They let you come and go as you please, although it is a little quieter than the more rowdy places around here, which is nice. The hostel is entirely safe: I felt comfortable leaving all my stuff here during the day (even in the dorm).The best part about the Tulip is the staff. They are so friendly and helpful with everything. They helped me decide what attractions were worth seeing/doing and which were just a rip off, which I appreciated. On top of that, you'll probably end up being friends with them by the time you leave!The breakfast in the morning was great, consisting of fresh melon, tomatoes, and watermelon, along with bread, hard-boiled eggs, and tea or coffee. From the kitchen, you can look onto the Bosphorus. You can also cook up there, although I didn't do so myself.Basically, I would recommend this hostel to anyone who wants to stay in the Sultanhamet area. It's a great location, but more importantly the environment is clean and the staff is awesome. You won't regret your decision to stay here.

Liked: The staff here were awesome, big help recommending where to visit all over Istanbul, even coming out with us to Taksim for a night. They definitely make this a good choice to stay. Rooms were pretty much what you get at most hostels, breakfast was good, very nice bread. decent view from the top floor across the Bosphorus to the Asian side

Liked: The staff were so friendly and helpful, they really went out of their way to help us enjoy our stay. Their personalities created a warm, inclusive atmosphere, we instantly felt at home and could have stayed for weeks. Mehmet in particular would have done anything to help us.The location is spot on, the hostel spotless, full of character, sociable and value for money. Would definitely recommend it!!

Liked: Mehmet was awesome! He even picked us up from the ferry port for free:) Great location, great breakfast and strong coffee!!! Nice common room and a lot of people coming through the hostel that were cool to hang out with, so great place to meet people of all ages! The rooms were bright and clean, great views of harbor from common room and some rooms. Can be a little noisey due to the neighborhood and closeness of rooms but that is what earplugs are for:) Stay here!

Liked: Well they were originally full in the guesthouse and tried to charge us more to stay in their new hotel. After some gentle prompting, we stayed in the new hotel for the same price as the guest house. The people were wonderful and obviously love talking to travellers. The only problem was the construction noises at night. I don't know why they were pouring concrete at 11pm, but it was loud! The rooms were gorgeous though!

Liked: The owners and staff are so friendly and welcoming and can't do enough to make you enjoy your stay in Istanbul. Always smiling and ready with tea and sweets and recommendations for places to go. The breakfast was fresh and tasty in the lovely sun-filled dining area which is small so you have to say hello to your fellow visitors and make new friends.
