Liked: Average accommodation but a good location. There is a lot of outdoor seating directly by the ground floor dorm windows which makes for a noisy night. The travel centre staff are very helpful.

Liked: The people running the travel agency attached to this hostel were negative and tried to stop me from taking an independent trip to Pergamum - two of their staff at the same were persisting on this and I got the impression it was to try and shunt me onto one of their tours. Their attitude was rude and cynical.The reception staff were mostly nice but on checkout one of them basically marched me to their computer to complete my hostelbookers review and stood over me watching and practically telling me what to write - so I didn't feel comfortable writing an honest review and asked HB to supply the page again to write an accurate review back home.I stayed here in 2005 and I don't rememebr the breakfast being so poor. It is traditional turkish but such a meagre plate of nothingness and served up like we were staying in a half way house rather than a tourist hostel. There was no fruit or anything to accompany it so it was a very sad affair.Having said that the location is good and the terrace is great, and most of the staff are nice and helpful. The room was not very clean but the bathrooms were.Probably fine for an uber cheap couple of nights in a dorm if passing through, as I was on my last visit.

Liked: Very good location, five minutes walk away from the blue mosque. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. Travel agency that is connected to hostel is a great place to book buses and other hostels in Turkey. We sat down with them and our entire trip was planned! Turkish breakfast on the terrace upstaris with a view of Aya Sopia and the water.

Liked: Istanbul hostel is an all around great place to stay, and the staff is willing to help you out with any help that you need and has answered any questions that we've had. As an expierienced traveler, this is probably the best hostel I've stayed in my travels in the Middle East.

Liked: I had a fantastic experience at this hostel. The location is perfect for sights: only a two-minute walk from the Hagia Sofia and a four-minute walk from the Blue Mosque. From the area, you can catch a tram easily to nightlife areas like Taksim, as well as the ferry docks. The breakfast (included) is good, and the dorms and facilities are always clean and well cared for. There is a travel agency in the same building for convenient booking, and a restaurant on the rooftop. Free wi-fi is also a huge plus. Stayed for 6 nights, and had a great time!

Liked: Wonderful staff!!! They were so helpful and friendly!! Great location! Only complaint is that the bathrooms were small and not as clean as they could have been. But there was hot water and everything we needed.

Liked: Our stay was fantastic! The location was perfect, seconds away from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The staff was extremely helpful and had a great sense of humor. My boyfriend and I stayed in the double room that is pictured online. It was a good value for the money I paid, which was not a lot. The only downside was that we had to share a bathroom. Would definitely recommend!

Liked: This place was worth traveling half the way around the world for! These guys have great sense of humours and the facilities are excellent. Try the meze platter upstairs at the restaurant... It will change your life! This made my anzac experience as good as it was :)

Liked: The staff was supremely helpful and accomodating, especially Zeki, who gave great advice for visiting sites. Great location in Sultanahmet, a very safe and tourist friendly neighborhood. INTERNET!!!! AWESOME!!!
