Liked: location!

Disliked: no common room or kitchen :( staff were useless and not very friendly. the one time they did give advise it led to us getting to the airport with only minutes to spare (stressful!) instead of the planed 1 hour buffer time.

Liked: Its a realy nice hostel. clean, big rooms, great breakfast and a wonderfull roof. you are so closed to the big places and in the night you sleep well. when you need tourists, beer and party, go in this area.

Disliked: the area is full of tourist and so you dont realy feel to be in the city, the vibe of Istanbul. if you wanna feel them, go in the near of the galata tower.

Liked: Very clean and safe hostel. Was able to accomodate me for an extra 2 days between my orig booked dates. Excellent staff very knowledgable and fun.

Liked: It was very clean and safe. Menue was reasonable from the bar and food was excellent. Staff were very friendly and knowledgable about all things to help with your stay in Istanbul as well as travelling across Turkey.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike.

Liked: Sultan Hostel is located on very beautiful and lively street with great restaurants and bars in oriental style. Ideally located close to most tourist sites. The hostel has a very pleasant atmosphere and style. The entire crew was very friendly and helpful.

Disliked: But this is not a place where you can sleep till late morning. The reason is that the doors are closing with a crash every time someone came out or entered in to his/her room.

Liked: we had the best room which was the only one with windows on 2 walls and a view to the ocean. This is a double room with an eusuite

Disliked: if you wanna go to a quiet place , is not a good option. very loud day and night..is a very touristic place so, young people all the time...

Liked: Secure lockers. Close to most main attractions. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent breakfast and place to relax.

Disliked: Evening very party like in the street until 3am and difficult to get to sleep.

Liked: Great location, the room is nice even though smaller than it appears on the advert pics (room just to fit a bed). Shared bathrooming is big and works well that's a plus in comparison with the rest of Turkey.

Disliked: Not necessarily the best value hostel. 25 euro is overpriced for what you get, similar deal - same location, same room, just worse bathrooms we got later for 17 euro a night. The breakfast is nothing like the ratings speak before. It is a buffet of typical Turkish breakfast (cucumber, tomatoes, cheese, egg + flakes and jam). Basically the same you get everywhere else. Another problem was the airport pickup we ordered never showed up so we had to figure it out at 3 a.m which was exactly what we didnt want, so not much reliable. Take a yellow taxi in front of airport anyway, it should be 35 TL (18euro).

Liked: This hostel is located in a great area. It's easy to get to places all around Istanbul.

Disliked: The beds were TERRIBLE! They basically bought the cheapest mattresses humanly possible. It was made out of springs and a thing sheet basically. My back was killing me. I don't understand how many people were staying in the hostel and able to tolerate the beds. I stayed in other hostels across the street for the same amount of money and the beds were much better. We wanted to try out another hostel and I regret going to Sultan Hostel.

Liked: Great atmosphere with loads of people to meet and staff will even join you in having a good time.

Disliked: The 24 bed door was a little crowded but not a huge problem

Liked: Private bath in dorm quite clean and with hot water

Disliked: Rooms have no personality; they're actually sleazy, and bathroom too. No safety at all (dorm door always open just aside of lateral entrance, no lockers in the room). Moreover staff promises things wich are not true (breackfast is included in the price but if you leave earlier than 8 they told me there would have been pocket breackfast for me...they could have said just nothing because it was not true.
