Kostiantyn PertsovskyiHearty place, understanding warm-hearted host. You'll really feel what is true turkish hospitality. Nice terrace with view to the mosque and Bosphorus. Breakfast (unfortunately vegetarian). The owner/host doesn't speak English very well, but he is so cheerful and open - that there is no need in language to communicate. Here you are not a consumer - you are the guest. First we booked one night here only, bun then decided to stay here longer since its very welcome place. When we came 3 instead of two we even got a sufficient discount for the third person. At the same time I had to remind that partially I paid already as a deposit - be aware of that if you wish, but very likely you won't mind yourself to live something as tips, since you'll like the host indeed. Not that easy to find the place first time when you arrive, so better print a map in advance, at the same time you 'll easily find somebody to show you the road. Suuming up - if you wish to feel yourself not in the hostel, but as a guest in the home of your turkish friend please come - very good cultural experience and atmosphere (btw - free Internet in the lobby - I was able to use for few hours, no problem). To iimerse into Turkey it's very good place. Surely the most hearty hostel all over the world I have ever been. |

Customer reviewHostel was convenient, and staff were helpful and friendly. Even attempted to teach me backgammon (a work in progress). 4 bed dorm is insecure. No key system, and bathroom is for general hostel use, so get a lot of comings and goings (which can be a pain during the night). Just have to pack well and trust all ok (which it was). Staff in foyer right outside door, so that helps. All in all, ok. Would go back. |

Martin SimonovskyRooms are a bit shabby but still OK. There are no wardrobes in the room. The hostel is at a very busy street and one can distinctly hear it even through modern plastic windows - however, in the night the traffic is low, the noise is OK and beds are comfy. There is a kitchen in the hostel and breakfast is served on a covered roof with a somewhat look over the sea. Staff is OK. Resume: average hostel, OK location, recommendable if you want to pay not too much, to explore Istanbul and not to stay most of the day indoors:). |
