Liked: Location is great, breakfast included in the (low) price is great value for money

Disliked: No lockers in the large dorm, not much "tourist" information provided (very much party focused)

Liked: Toilets and showers were really clean, but we had cockroaches in our room. Overall stay was really good, don't recommend the 30 bed dorm unless on extreme budget.

Liked: Fantastic location, just behind Hagia Sophia. Eggy Bread on the breakfast buffet. Cheap beer and wine in the bar - cheapest we found, infact. Beautiful roof terrace for breakfast and drinks. Staff were brilliant & even made us sandwiches on our last day since we were checking out really early. Book exchange. Free internet & wifi.

Disliked: Our double room was very small and basic, dorms looked less cramped though. No cold drinks at breakfast, just tea and coffee.

Liked: The terrace has a view of the Haiga Sofia, the Blue Mosque and the Mediterranean Sea...can't beat that!

Disliked: It was noisy at night.

Disliked: was in an unlockable dorm room with no place for bags and no lockers. the staff came around at 1am waking peolpe up to check who they were and if they were in the right bed

Liked: Good staff! If you would like to celebrate something, they will arrange it.

Disliked: The rooms are perhaps to overcrowded (a 30 bed dorm and 8 beds on approximately 20m2). No sheets available!!

Liked: Cafe downstairs, bar upstairs and great roof terrace. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great turkish breakfast included

Disliked: We were only given 1 bottom sheet and a used-looking blanket. Not sure how often they were changed?? Showers were terrible-poor water pressure, fluctuating between hot and freezing cold and on my last day the shower stopped running completely and I had to have the remainder of my wash under the 'bathtap'

Liked: Amazing location and views, very clean and felt at home here! staff are super friendly and always there to tell you where to go or where the best place is to eat! i would recemmend the hostel to everyone!

Liked: This hostel was everything I hoped for and more. THe location is great, it is right off the Sultanhamet Tram stop just down and behind the Haggia Sohia (so if you are getting off the tram just head straight for about a block and turn left right towards Haggia Sophia and just follow the path down to the hostel street). Everyone at the hostel was super friendly and they even have an office in the hostel that will book day tours, buses and flights for you. So helpful. The view from the roof top is great and it is a great place to have a drink and a meal.

Disliked: It is an area with many pubs and restaurants which means a lot of partying and some noise, but it is nothing to lose sleep over.

Liked: This hostel was wonderful. We ended up having to extend our stay in Istanbul and cancelling our trip to the Cappadoce, and the guys here made sure we were well taken care of. Very serviable and happy people. You can trust them for sure!

Disliked: It is noisy especially if staying in room 31 in the basement since, the window is directly to the outside street.

Liked: My friend and I had an amazing time at the Orient Hostel. We felt like part of their family for a week. The location is fantastic with a short walk to Aya Sofia and the Blue Mosque in one direction and to the sea in the other. This is a great place to meet people as well so even if you are travelling alone you will have no problem making friends quickly to enjoy the city with. We had the private room and it was clean and comfortable. In the evenings the upstairs lounge/bar is a great place to get the night started with some good shisa and music. If for nothing else I would recommend this place for the wonderful staff. The guys are very helpful and tons of fun.

Liked: The location of the hostel was absolutely perfect.

Disliked: The staff weren't very helpful when I asked them to recommend a good place to go out at night, they would just say "You can stay here and drink and party". The room with internet access wasn't always available, only accessible for a few hours in the morning and night. When they screened any football in the evening, straight after, they would take the tv down and actually on two occasions, turned off the lights where me and a friend were sitting! Not exactly encouraging us to stay at their bar/hostel. The staff weren't the friendliest. It felt that they'd be more receptive towards me if I was wearing a mini skirt and high heels.
