Taksiyarhis Pension

The Taksiyarhis, which we started to renovate in 1989, is an old Greek house that dates back to 1800’s. Narrow paved roads will lead you to the Taksiyarhis, which is located in an area where the development of buildings is restricted by the preservation order.

While renovating our home our intention was to create a place which would reflect the great excitement of the explorer within our souls. We aimed to make it a meeting place of different cultures and colors.

At the Taksiyarhis, we have bicycles for rent waiting for those who would like to explore new places by themselves. We have books to exchange...

Ayvalik is a pretty town on the Aegean coast, located about 120 km north of Izmir.
The visitor who chooses Ayvalýk as his / her destination in Turkey would possibly be charmed by the "fusion" of East and West, the architectural heritage of Greek Anatolian craftsmanship, the pine forest and gorges of the "Kaz Daðlarý", the mountains where the first beauty contest was held in Greek Mythology.

What makes Ayvalýk so particular is its natural beauty. One who happens to come to these ancient borderlands from Pergamon to Troy should be ready to be fascinated by the view of the soft slopes along the Aegean Sea, land of the olive tree, laurel and grape, of pine tree and stone oak.

One can easily associate Ayvalýk with red - brick roofs and wonderful portals carved out of pink sandstone that satisfy one's desire for harmony and beauty.

Our intention is to create places where you can feel a breeze carrying various odors from different cultures.

Our aim is to ease the excitement of the explorer within our souls by feeding him / her mysterious colors of the past and sharing with you the atmosphere that we have been trying to make aesthetically pleasing.
