Liked: The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice rooms that were cleaned daily. Owners also helped us book transport to our next stop for a reasonable price. Definatly recommend.

Liked: Incredibly friendly staff, great location about 10 minutes walk from everything you would want to see in Patong. Great airconditioning and we had a massive king-size comfortable bed in our room. Rooms were cleaned daily.

Disliked: There were some issues with water pressure but nothing that bothered us too much.

Liked: We stayed here over new year 2011 / 2012 and had a fantastic time. The staff are super-friendly and the location is very good for the price - 10 minutes walk to the beach, the shopping centre and Bangla Road. The airconditioning worked really well. The room wasn't in use on our final day so they let us use the room until we departed for our flight in the afternoon!

Disliked: Water stopped working briefly but this was fixed very quickly.

Liked: The staff is probably the best part! They are so kind, welcoming, and very helpful. The room and bathroom are very large and well kept, you can have your room cleaned daily, with fresh towels! The breakfast could be served hatter, but the food is good and reason able. It's close to the beach, shopping and lots of food!

Disliked: The dead bolt on the door didn't work.

Liked: Staff were friendly. It was clean and secure.

Disliked: We went 24 hours without any water in the hotel. Initially it was a burst pipe in the road which is not their fault but then nothing seem to happen about alternate arrangements. It is not far out of the town but the taxi driver had trouble finding it and there are many more hotels much nearer. There is no lift so if steps are a problem you won't like it.

Liked: The best thing about the A1 guesthouse is the friendly and helpful staff. It was also nice that there was a good common area/bar downstairs.

Disliked: The only disadvantage to the A1 guesthouse is its location. It is a way from the beach and main nightlife area.

Liked: Large and clean rooms with TV (102 channels), fridge and air con. They rent scooter for just 150 bath. Close to the beach and to the shops.

Disliked: We met no other backpackers.

Liked: nice area where they greet you. little bar with a pool table and pretty girls at your service :P the rooms are decent, the ac wasnt cool enough but they never are in budget accom. but i asked for a fan and they gave me one. there is a pc downstairs too you can use anytime. nice enough service. can rent a scooter out for 150 a day too.

Disliked: nothing.

Liked: Majestically tuned-in to the desires of their clientele, A1 Island exceeded expectations as the tortoise surpasses the hare. I had an absolutely smashing time here! Staff are perpetually accommodating, obliging and gracious. Rooms are in an untarnished, apple-pie order, synchronised by the appetising restaurant and stimulating bar below.

Disliked: Admittedly there was no swimming pool on the roof and the cat occasionally tripped me up.

Liked: A1 Guesthouse was fantastic. The owners were extremly helpful and nice. I would come back here anytime for a holiday and will be recommending it all my friends!!! Thanks again!!

Liked: The A1 Guesthouse was by far the best Hostel I'd stayed in when throughout my travels in Asia. Claus and Goy make you feel extremely welcome from the moment you step inside. They can assist you with any enquiries you may have and are always keen to have a chat and offer some friendly local advice. The food in the restaurant is great as well which makes it hard to want to leave!

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: The owners were very welcoming and were always around for a chat. The room was warm and inviting with lots of hot water.

Disliked: Only one computer for all the guests to use but it was free so cant complain much.
