Ao Nang is a village on the coast in Krabi province about 17 kms from Krabi town. It is developing rapidly as a tourist resort mainly because of the spectacular scenery in the area, particularly the coastline and nearby islands.
A wide variety of tourist accommodation is available in and around the village, with a wide variety of prices and value for money. Similarly with restaurants. There is always a big peak of tourists in December and January, and it is quite hard to find anywhere to stay between mid-Dec and mid-Jan.
The most popular attractions are the local beaches, swimming, boat trips to nearby islands, snorkelling, diving, fishing, canoeing, and generally getting away from it all. The surrounding areas can best be visited by renting a motor bike; the quiet roads and the weather make this an ideal way to explore.
