Liked: It was very good for the dorm room for six people where i was staying. The staff were extremely helpful, and for those who speak Thai its a wonderful opportunity to practise, as the girl at reception speaks very clearly) I left all my belongings in the room, and it was safe,though if u have doubts,u can leave them at the reception. The location was perfect-near the beach, and within the walking distance to the main street

Disliked: To be honest, could be a bit cheaper, even considering the fact Samui is a popular resort.

Liked: The staff were really friendly and very helpful, went above and beyond to help us with any questions/problems, gave good advice.

Disliked: The location was OK - bit of a walk to get into the lively area of the town - however v close to a beach, 7-11 and lots of places to eat.

Liked: the property is located opposite some beautiful beaches, and the area is 10 minutes away from the main night life so it is nice and quiet.

Disliked: there was a cockroach on the bed and when asking the staff for help we were told "we dont usually get them on the top floor, they usually stay on the ground floor" which is disgusting!! the walls were covered in cobwebs and things that looked like moth sacks. the atmosphere was grave as there was no place to meet other travellers.

Liked: They clean up your room every day. The guesthouse is realy just few meters from the beach. An internet cafe is just on the other site of the street.

Disliked: There are no glasses in the windows just a net, so there are many little spiders and something like this in the room. But there were gekos on the walls too, what I found amazing.

Liked: nothing

Disliked: this place is cheap BUT: the two rooms I've seen were really dirty, the worst matress i've slept in and, the forniture is shabby and in a bad state, there are many insects, there is a strong smell of humidity (the bathroom hasn't got a window)and there is no a lounge room! i left after 2 nights! better py some more bath and stay in another guesthouse!

Liked: Rooms were nice looking and clean, which makes it good value for money

Disliked: Office door locked when we arrived an hour 1/2 before closing time, with no number to call. Had to wait 20 mins in the rain before we found someone to let us in. Although their tours are cheap, they were very disorganised and we (2 girls) were left alone in the middle of no where for 2 hours waiting for a bus. Our luggage was also opened up whilst on the ferry, when it was stored on the coach we were travelling on. FINALLY dont leave anything valuable in the room. All our money was stolen whilst at the fullmoon party (including foreign currency), despite us keeping it in seperate places throughout the room.

Liked: Can enter without main entrance (you can get home at 4am without waking up anyone)

Disliked: Horrible smell, rust at many places, flickering light, humid bed, bad shower, no hot water.

Liked: It was a good location just up the street from a downtown area. A couple of restaurant options within a minute or two walk. Great value.

Disliked: There were quite a few ants in the room and the bathroom wasn't super clean but I don’t know if the ants can be stopped in an area like this and in a group setting the bathroom would be hard to keep spotless too. Just know that is what you are signing up for not the marriott.

Liked: It was cheap with decent sized beds

Disliked: Beds had mites, not bed bugs though but I did get bitten every night and the matresses were thin and very old. Ants everywhere in the bathroom which smelled. No air con and we were told we'd have another fan which we didn't get. No wifi in rooms. The restaurant that us owned by the hotel is also very overpriced for Samui.

Liked: The owner was very helpful and friendly! He helped us organise a trip around the island and elephant trekking, let us use his internet, and we got 10% discount at the Pizzeria across the road! There was fans and Aircon in the room, so nice and cool in the evening. Rooms were value for money, you get what you pay for. There was a broken fan in the room, and was fixed straight away.

Disliked: Maybe needs a new loo seat??

Disliked: you couldn't lock the door to the balcony, so i felt a bit ansecure.

Liked: Manager was great - really friendly and helpful. He is British so there was no language barriers.

Disliked: The rooms, while tidy, weren't really cleaned properly. Mould on fridge seals and in between tiles - that kind of stuff. The bathrooms were similar to prison bathrooms. But overall, for a budget room its fine.

Liked: Good selection of books for sale; big rooms.

Disliked: Toilet wouldn't flush, staff were lacklustre (we were checked in by a bewildered girl who told us her boyfriend - the manager/ owner, assumedly - was sleeping and couldn't help us); there was no one around at checkout time so we just left the key on the bed; blinds were broken in our bottom-floor room so passers-by could see in. We moved into slightly more expensive but infinitely nicer digs across the road after one night.

Liked: I stayed in a fan room on my own with a double bed and ensuite Good, comfortable bed. Room with bed is essential!

Disliked: The bathroom has a strong off putting smell. The pipes in the toilet are quite small so if you dump a big one, you might find it difficult to flush!

Liked: We were pleased with the facilities on offer for the price. Other places were cheaper, but didn't have the comforts that Moonlight did... TV (with English channels), fridge, hot water, aircondition, scooter rentals, etc.

Disliked: We found it a little too far from the centre of town. It was cheaper to hire a scooter for a day, than it was to get a taxi. Once we had arranged for the scooter though, the distance didn't worry us at all.

Disliked: Ensuite never cleaned, toilet didn't flush properly, only cold showers available and room way too hot with only a fan for whole room

Liked: It was a 15min walk from the main town and the room was big.

Disliked: The beach it was near was a murky, shallow, crab-infested pond - you had to walk into the main town to get to the decent part of the beach. The manager, Richie, is less than enthusiastic about his job and his organisational amd people skills are practically non-existant. Guests should be aware of the cancellation 'policy' before booking - that is, if you want to leave early you can only get your money back if he can fill the room for the remainder of your booking. Expect numerous days in limbo, wondering whether you can find another roof over your head, whilst he faffs about not really doing much to fill the room.

Liked: It was a good hostel to be at the cheap resteraunt is a real help. I got second degree burns whilst on the beach and the staff were extremly helpful in my recovery.

Disliked: A little off the Chaweng strip but only needs a 10 minute walk if that if anything this could be a plus as Chaweng gets kind of crazy at night

Liked: The room was very basic but clean. The hostel is in a very good location, right near the beach and about a 5-10 minute walk into town where there's a really good market and extremely good night-life. The restaurant for the hostel was really nice and you get 10% off your food which was great. The room was very hot though as we only had a ceiling fan between the 4 of us, would have been cooler sitting outside! But for a cheap price, it was great and I would recommend to fellow travellers also on a budget.
