Come and stay in Thailand's North-Eastern province of Khon Kaen and live for a while in the village of Ban Non Toon with Manida and her family.

Here you will live among the local people, mostly rice farmers, but stay in a modern, comfortable house and eat delicious food.

There is a programme for you that includes working with a Thai family in the fields, going on excursions to markets and interesting places in the area, learning how to cook Thai food and more .....

Accommodation Information

Downstairs the Thai family lives, upstairs is for the guests and built with 100% insulated teakwood. Two double rooms and a living room. Room 1 is bigger and more luxurious with airco, cupboard, sink, tv, dvd player and king size bed. Room 2 is a fanroom and has a queensize bed and a cupboard. This room has however access to the balcony: you can also sleep there under a mosquito net. Families prefer this room often because the kids can sleep on the balcony.
The cozy living room can be used by the guests and has a sofa, table and internetcomputer.
There is a smal library and 60 dvd titles to choose from.

We have mountainbikes and motorbikes for rent, two country hikes with signs, cooking lessons, excursions to monkey garden, silk farm and Khon Kaen cultural tour, possibility to experience planting or harvesting rice, massage and massage lessons and evening games on the school playground.

Location Information

Khon Kaen is located in the heart of Isan 400 km from Bangkok on the way to Vientian Laos.
Isan is Thailands rice growing centre and has within Thailand it's own status and culture. There are few tourists and it is possible to observe Thai life in it's most unspoiled form. Khon Kaen city (150.000) has both very modern shopping malls as old shops and markets. It has a train- and busstation and an airport.
Silk farm, King Cobra village, monkey garden, several interesting temples, a surprising museum are worth visits. Hiking and cycling in the countryside are great outdoor activities as is doing games in the evening at the schoolyard.
