Liked: Good clean room, shower was nice and hot. In the backpacking area of Kanchanaburi with good access to lots of places to eat and drink.

Disliked: Although its not the staffs fault other residents were very noisy and could be heard from inside the room. Id agree with other comments on here about staff being hard to find most of the time

Disliked: The staff were reluctant to serve customers and at the moment I arrived "Sam" was midway through a fight with another customer that looked like it was about to turn physical...

Liked: The location was excellent. The bungalow itself was right on the river yet it was just a 100 yard walk to the main street. It had a porch to chill out on and admire the view and it's timber construction made it nice to look at (along with the others). The staff were very friendly and helpful both with the room and for information about tours/taxis.

Disliked: There was no safe in the room. Insect repellent is a must.

Liked: The setting was lovely with the huts set in a tropical garden with a stream at the bottom of the property. Each hut has its own decking with seats and its relaxing to sit out here and listen to the wildlife of an evening. The hut was clean and spacious. Location is great. It's on the main tourist strip so plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. It's only a ten minute walk to kanchanaburi railway station, cemetery and Thailand-Burma railway museum and only twenty minutes walk to the jeath museum and river kwai bridge.

Disliked: The staff were a bit grumpy although one did manage to squeeze out a smile, it nearly killed them though.

Liked: Location

Disliked: We've been travelling in S.E. Asia for 8 weeks and this has to be the worst hostel we have stayed in. At check-in no record of our booking, however later in the day it was lying on the reception desk. Staff seemed really miserable and uninterested in running a hostel. We were shown to our room but that was it. Nobody was ever available at reception. Room OK but bathroom could do with updating. How this hostel has got such good reviews I don't know.

Liked: We stayed in the Jasmine bungalow, which had so much character, overlooking the river. Really good location, very close to main area for bars etc... Could find cheaper but we were happy to pay abit more ... it is worth it!!

Liked: Good wifi. Good services such as laundry and restaurant. Nice place and environment

Disliked: bathrooms could be cleaner and when you use shower it wets te whole toilet including toilet seat

Liked: Adorable little bungalows, even fan rooms were spacious and clean. Conveniently located on the main tourist drag and within walking distance of most major sights.

Disliked: Nothing really.

Liked: Good location, helpful staff and good to book trips & travel with them! Value for money is pretty good, I imagine you can stay in nicer places around though.

Disliked: Not the cleanest... there for 3 days and they didn't give us new towels or toilet roll, so we had to keep going out to ask for more! No computers available, so only good if you can connect to wifi somehow!

Liked: It was close to the tour operators in town. Bed was clean and air con was a nice touch.

Disliked: Staff were rude and not helpful.

Liked: Good atmospher, peace and quiet.

Disliked: The karaokeboats that were running through the river. There was only one person at the reception who could speak English and she wasn't there very often.

Liked: Okay value for money, decent shower

Disliked: In the beginning the lady at the front desk wasn't particularly hospitable, yet later it improved slightly. The stone bungalows could use a some paint and the sheets could use proper washing...

Liked: The jasmin family is perfect for a big group. The room is really nice and clean and.. quiet. Basic but what can you ask for the cheap price. We make a 2 days advance booking because of the river kwai bridge festival. Lucky to book it here in Hostelbookeepers, because when we arrived there, rooms is already full. A lot of tourists are still looking for a place to stay. Not a smart way to do it though. A break for me from a big city like bangkok.

Disliked: They need more staff. Only one person is preparing the food and at the same time manning the lobby desk. Takes time to surrender the key and/or ask around for help where to go.

Liked: Enjoyed the location and the look of the rooms.

Disliked: Mostly the fact that only one person behind reception could speak English. Everyone else had zero so if she was there it was ok, but if she wasnt you couldnt get anything done except maybe book an extra night.

Liked: It was clean and quite quiet, very pretty surroundings. There was a bar and restaurant on site and it is on the Kanchanaburi strip so very easy to go out for meals / drinks.

Disliked: Not much english spoken, Sam (the owner) we met quickly when we arrived but that was really about it. They do their best to help though. We found another hostel for the same price with air con so moved there. There is also cheaper accomodation avialable.

Liked: Sam is a very friendly host and is a great source for the amentities available. The accommodation is basic but in \line with what you're paying. Great location really as it's easy to find your way around from here.

Disliked: If've you've not stayed in budget accommodation you may be a little surprised, but it is great for price.
