Liked: The hostel is great for backpackers and solo travelers. The outside common area allows for many people to socialize and interact. The facilities (ie bathroom) is minimal - 2 bathrooms for 6 rooms of 4-10 beds each. Floor is often wet cuz there is no separate shower area, just a shower head and a drain near the toilet. Hot water usually available. The beds were very hard. 2 plugs in a 4 bed room. This is definitely not the greatest hostel I've stayed in, but probably due to the price. Get what you pay for. There are several other guesthouses in the area. The location was very good! Many restaurants, fruit market, bank, 7/11; just about everything you need a block or two away.

Disliked: beds too hard.

Liked: I loved my stay at A Little Bird! The location is great. Close to the markets and in walking distance to anything in the old city. The staff was super friendly and extremely helpful. The outside lounge area was a great way to hang out and meet other travelers.

Disliked: Can't really complain. For 100 Baht a night you can't expect luxury but here you get character.

Liked: This is a good hostel for meeting people. It was always full and people in the comman area that you could chat with, have a beer and swap stories.

Disliked: Because it's so busy it can be loud at night.

Liked: The staff were really helpful and friendly.Storage space for your luggage, though it's not very secure, just a closet with no monitoring or locks. The beds are decent, and clean. A good place if you're on a very tight budget and don't need much.

Disliked: The hostel was full of drunks the night I stayed, making tons of noise, and my room was near the patio where they were hanging out. The walls are paper thin and you can hear anyone moving anywhere in the hostel, especially at night. There is also construction next door that begins very early. The showers are swarming with Mosquitos and the toilets are always wet because the shower is right over the toilet even though the room is quite large.

Liked: The staff were all really nice and helpful! They even helped me book a tuk tuk driver a day in advance to drive me around a little north of the city. It was in a perfect location within easy walking distance of sights.

Disliked: The "no noise after 11pm" rule wasn't exactly enforced since only the security guard was there after 9.

Liked: Location, character of building, openness of the facility, rooms were a good size, staff were extremely helpful, etc.

Disliked: bathrooms could be spruced up a bit, bathroom mat seemed very old and with mildew, not sure if bathroom was cleaned every day, very noisy outside, certain parts of room & bathroom seemed exposed to outside, which made our room accessible for bugs (maybe a solution would be a screen in the space between the bedroom & bathroom)

Liked: Very cosy and with a nice atmosphere. The staff was very helpfull and nice and a very nice place to meet other travelers. It felt safe and clean.

Disliked: The bathroom was not very nice, the door didn't close and it was hard to manage to have hot water. Other than that, i have seen a lot worse bathrooms in other hostels.

Liked: It was so cheep (get it!). Its a basic hostel, the facilities are nothing fancy, but they are secure. The location is perfect, its a great place to meet other travellers too. The beer is DIRT CHEAP.

Disliked: The evening "blind dating" game where all the single guys and girls put their name into a hat, and are drawn with each other, and have to go to a bar or restuarant together for two hours on a date. (If you don't want to do this tell them you have a partner back home!), this resulted in at least 8 people sleeping together, including some ugly guys. I don't think a hostel should be promoting this, but if you are single and want some good times, this is the place to be lol. I kissed my date but no more, my wife wouldn't like it!

Liked: Perfect place to stay in Chiang Mai. The location is excellent! All the staff were friendly and helpful. At night, there a security guard at the entrance. The toilet was clean.

Disliked: Too noisy in the morning because my room just next to the road. But, it was ok because of the price. I cant ask for me. And this place quite busy because its so popular with backpacker. So, make sure you make your booking before arrived!

Liked: The staff is really nice and the atmosphere is awesome. Everbody extended their stay and enjoys to chill out at the patio. The market is just 10 meters away and you can get smoothies and fresh fruits for a couple of bucks. It's really good to meet new people, to go out or to relax here. The price is unbeatable and it was the best decision to stay here!
