Liked: Stella and Nine were both extremely helpful, whenever we asked for something or for help booking tours they were brilliant. The double bed room we stayed in was really nice and comfortable with the bins being cleaned everyday. The showers and toilets were spotless too. The location is really good aswell for the sunday night market and also the post office with loads of internet cafes, small supermarkets and atms dotted around. All in all it was a great stay and I would definitely stay here again if I ever come back to Chiang Mai.

Disliked: DO NOT eat here. The quality is good but the price is 2 to 3 times greater than the many excellent food establishments nearby

Liked: The place and rooms where clean but basic,the location is in the old town but not to far to walk to the centre. They where very helpfull and had a lot of knowledge on all trips and bus journeys to other ares .

Disliked: If your on your own it wasnt a good place for sociolising and meeting other people

Liked: Very clean and secure. Rooms are big with multiple fans for comfort. Location is within old city walls.

Disliked: People that work there can be kind of pushy to book trekking tours...although it's probably the norm in Chiang Mai. Common area is clean but the layout (think of a restaurant rather than a hostel communal area) doesn't make it easy to meet other travelers.

Liked: I booked in for 2 nights, but ended up staying for 6. The hostel itself has a nice old-school feel to it with timber floors and open staircases. The rooms are nice and cool during the day (Dec) and I thought the beds were comfortable. Everything was kept extremely clean, which was a nice change. Plenty of tour and travel packages can be booked at reception with the help of the lovely Nine who looks after the day to day running of the place, she was amazing the whole time I stayed there. She sorted all the bookings and answered any silly questions I had and cancelled bookings after I injured myself while mountain biking.. All with a smile and fantastic sense of humour. Even after I'd changed my mind on how I was going to travel into Laos for the 10th time. And during the evenings Stella would come out of the kitchen with a glass of wine a liven the place up. Did I mention she's a fantastic cook? I loved the place, and will definitely stay with them again the next time I travel to Thailand.

Disliked: Nothing. Am sad I had to move on.

Liked: The Green Tulip has lovely spacious rooms and is very clean. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is tasty and reasonably priced. Has lots of tours available (but were not pushy). Would highly recommend.

Liked: The house is very nice and clean, the rooms were painted nice colors, the bed was comfortable. There is a terrace that you can chill on and a large "smokers terrace", but there isn't any furniture on that one and neither is very welcoming for some reason. The staff is good, although not all are that friendly. They offer all kinds of tours and activities if that is what you are after.

Disliked: The place could use a common space where people could hang out and meet other than the restaurant, which is quite expensive and nobody really hangs out there anyway. The hallways are almost empty and would definitely fit a nice couch or some comfy chairs for people to be able to spend time somewhere other than their rooms. Overall not much of an atmosphere, and since they sell tours, there is a bit of pressure to buy something from them. Not huge pressure, but you can't really ask for advice on something and hope for an answer that doesn't include them offering their services. The location is ok, within the old city walls but about a 10 min walk to the some of the main traveler streets and the nicest wats. There was nothing bad about this guest house, there are just other options that are better.

Liked: nine and stella the owners were brilliant, very friendly, good advice on trips and were not pushy to sell at all. room was nice and clean. good showers.nice little area on rooftop to chill out as well. khao pat gai for breakfast aroi mak mak! will definitely stay here when i next come to CM.

Liked: The people who work here is so warm and helpful. They do anything to help you in whatever you need. Really amazing staff and safe place. Will be back soon and every time I get back to Chiang Mai.

Liked: Have never seen an accomodation in Asia which is so clean and so cheap. Very friendly staff.

Liked: Cheap, super clean, Stella & Nine were super helpful running the place too! Booked in for one day originally, ended up staying for almost a week! Not too far to walk from most places although taxis are dirt cheap around here anyway. I would recommend the Ladyboy cabaret at the market and the Reggae bar afterwards for a great night out!

Disliked: Fan dorm room was a bit hot... but it was summer so what do you expect!

Liked: Very clean through out, staff are very friendly and happy to help. Only 30 minutes walk to the night market. Value for money. Front is locked up at night so safe and secure.

Disliked: No lockers in room.

Liked: An all round great hostel-fab atmosphere, very clean, lots of tours on offer at discounted prices, staff are very helpful and friendly and have good knowledge of the city. Rooms are spacious and clean.

Disliked: Personal lockers would have been nice. You can't use the computers after 10pm and the hostel doors shut at 10pm too so, although you can still come in later they need to open it for you & it feels a bit strange

Liked: Good value for money. Basic but clean. I booked into the 10bed dorm but they moved me into a female 3 bed dorm instead when I arrived. Good location for main sights.

Disliked: Only 1 key per room and no lockers.

Liked: The staff are very friendly and were more than helpful when it came to booking treks and onward journeys etc. The food is nice, little more than you'd pay elsewhere but convenient nonetheless. Free internet is handy for checking emails/facebook etc.. Right near Wat Phra Singh and local 7-11, internet cafe, laundry, Sunday Walking Street.

Disliked: Nothing personally but another couple had their room broken into and their laptop/ credit cards were stolen!! Be be aware!

Liked: I liked that it was realy close to the Sunday market and it was also in the Old Town of Chiangmai. It wasn't very far from most things in the old town. The building was very colorful with a lot of character. Super clean!

Disliked: I thought it was great! Maybe the fact ot wasnt near the strip of international foods and hostels
