Liked: This guesthouse was great! The ladies working there are awesome and very helpful, especially Off. We ended up staying for 9 nights. They offered tours from the guesthouse, and it is walking distance to restaurants, all the markets, the grocery store etc... and they let you use the kitchen! :)

Disliked: They need to put some money into new sheets and some small stuff around the place!! The sheets were always clean and fresh smelling... so just ignore the stains. It really did not bother us at all and we enjoyed our stay here and would some back! :)

Liked: The location, which is the reason I chose the place, is really good. It is outside the square, hence really quite and not so much traffic. There are few restaurants around, a pharmacy, a supermarket and a seven eleven. Walking time to the city is an acceptable 20 mins, night bazaar is nearby. I also liked the fact they have a garden and a terrace.

Disliked: The hostel describes its rooms as nice, clean and comfy. This is a lie. The furniture was so old and fragile that I thought it breaks every minute. The walls are thin as paper and you hear every single word the guests in the neighbouring rooms say. The linen had marks, I used my own sleeping bag to feel comfy. The bathroom was disgusting. The shower was leaking with brownish water which consequently was spread over the floor. The walls in bathroom and bedroom looked like they should have been repainted 25 years ago.

Liked: cheap, friendly and safe

Disliked: u must book via hostelbookers. if u want to add a night at the hostel, u pay 20 euro a night. get ure ipad or smartphone and book via hostelbookers on the spot to pay only 5 euro a night.

Liked: The staff when they were there were very friendly

Disliked: Everytime you had a shower it would flood the room and the water would remain constantly never draining away. Rooms were dirty and old, ancient, stained sheeting (supposed to be white but were poo brown!) When we turned up there was no one there and had to wait about an hour for the owner to turn up to check us in. If we didn't have a reservation we'd have left. But having said that the staff when they were around were incredibly friendly. The restaurant was dead, never anyone there when we tried to have food. A bit of a long walk from the centre

Liked: not a lot. owner was reasonably friendly and they booked the trek for us.

Disliked: this was the worst hostel we stayed in thailand. it was dirty and grimy - the sheets were stained yellow (once white!) the light had a missing cover so wires were hanging out, the walls were stained, the bathroom was awful the sink clearly hasnt been cleaned for a very long time. tried booking train tickets like they offered and got told no trains were running as the station was flooded. went to the station and it was fine.

Liked: The staff were wondeful! Really great value for money, hot showers, fast wifi, v.cheap prices for trips. We did jungle flight and a day trip to an elephant camp, white water rafting, trekking etc, all through ben's, highly recommended.

Disliked: Not enough people staying there, but would Be better in full season.

Liked: the owner is so friendly and welcoming and the rooms are comfortable and secure. it's a few minutes walk into town but so peaceful and quiet that it's worth it! the place has a nice relaxed feel and every effort is made to make you feel atr home. Great value!

Disliked: maybe the rooms could use a new coat of paint, but it's no big deal as they're clean and not smelly at all.

Liked: Exactly what we needed, clean room, shower, friendly staff and free WiFi. Close to centre but far enough away for some peace and quiet.

Liked: Not a great deal...prices were low but for a dollar or two more I would have much preferred better atmosphere, location, friendlier staff, and reliable wifi and usage of bikes as promised.

Disliked: Location, service, we waited what felt like ages for our meal the first day, and we were the only people in the restaurant. They also didn't have a working blender which took them nearly a half hour to notify me they could not deliver my shake. Very frustrating as well when a place advertises things they do not deliver on.

Liked: The staff here are the kindest and most helpful we have met on our trip. They always made you feel at home and make pretty good breakfast in the morning! Lovely walk from hostel to Night Bazaar and walking market . We will definitely stay again!

Liked: This property provided free wifi and was very inexpensive. The beds were more comfortable than most beds in Southeast Asia.

Disliked: This property is located outside of the hustle and bustle of Chiang Mai, so it took some time each day getting into town. My room faced east, and the dingy curtains they provided did very little to block out the sun. The place was extremely noisy-- whether it was music playing in another room, a private conversation, the "gentle" sound of the water fountain in the courtyard, or the impossibly loud family living on the property whose baby never stopped crying and whose exasperated mother screamed all morning-- I rarely slept well here.

Liked: Very good value for money, lovely staff and a good location if you would like a 5 min walk into the centre. The helped us sort our treck out and travel back to Bangkok.

Disliked: Very basic rooms and water was occasionally turned off without notice. When we arrived they said that they didnt have our hostelbookers booking, when i showed them the confimation email they were more than happy to find us a room.

Liked: The staff here are fantastic, what ever you need or where ever you want to go they will show you. Whilst they had lots of tours available we didnt want to go on any, unlike a lot of other places I have stayed, these guys did not push you into anything at all, makes a real difference. Whilst its east of the river, its literally a 10 min walk to night bizarre etc and 20 min walk to old city, not fat at all. The food is fantastic, would recommend this place.

Disliked: There is nothing I disliked about Bens Guesthouse

Liked: Free transport from the airport, which is so nice. Extremely nice hosts. Very helpful. Very cheap and located 5 min walk to the night market. Will stay there again next year.

Liked: They serve great food and do nearly anything to make you feel comfortable. They arrange everything for you; flights, trips, anything.

Disliked: The rooms are pretty dingy, but the rest makes it all OK.

Liked: it had a beautiful garden area and the staff is absolutely amazing!! so helpful and sweet..with many package options at great prices. Its super close to the night bazaar which was quite convienant. The owner even drove us to the Tiger Kingdom and waited for us for 2 hours!! !st class hospitality and nice clean rooms. I highly recommend this place to anyone...and the price is hard to beat. You get far more then you pay for at this wonderful establishment

Liked: Free internet, wi-fi, bicycle and airport pickup. Great cheap food, clean, cheap and cool (fan only room ok in Feb) room. Friendly staff (Lek, Aum and Song), knows you by name, willing to help in any way. Walking distance to night bazaar, supermarket. No cockroach and bath tiles ok not as mentioned by some. Really great value for $$$.
