About Funky Box hostel

Funky box is a spacious mixed 16 bed dormitory, with three toilets/hot showers. Adjacent to the hostel is a common room with tv/music, outside seated smoking area, free cycling museum, cycle hire and the hub pub! Great prices for backpackers and a happy hour from 4 pm to 9 pm.

The British owned bar and hostel is run by Alan Bate, the Guinness round the world record holder for the fastest circumnavigation of the planet by bicycle (one lap), his wife May and their small son, Mario. The bar normally opens to around midnight and offers a fun environment for meeting fellow travelers, having a laugh which more often than not turns into a party. We offer a warm welcome which will make you instantly feel part of the family. Be careful not to get Mario'd though, as fellow travelers call it.

No two nights are the same and the eclectic atmosphere lends itself to random nights, where we may play games or have talented guests entertaining us with music or song.
