Although slightly out of town, the hostel is near the skyrail so it's easy to get to the main attractions and shopping centres.
The rooms are basic, but clean; the food in the restaurant is superb and well priced; there's a good atmosphere and plenty of opportunities to meet people around the pool. We'll almost certainly stay here again when we return to Bangkok! I recommend this hostel!

Free net, good pool and quiet clean rooms. We just had a one night stop over in BKK this time and it was great for it. Taxi from the airport is 470 Baht including tolls and surcharge on a metered taxi.

It's great that it's no where near Kohsan Rd, it's a ten minute walk to the Saphan Kwai sky train and it's a really easy system to use. The bar's good fun at night, nice and chilled atmosphere. There's free internet and free use of washing machines with only a 10b charge for soap. Also they do a free shuttle to the weekend market which is a bonus.

The staff were absolutely fantastic, a really lively bunch that were really helpful. The bar/restaurant area by the pool was a great place to mingle and meet new people and the food they served was delicious!

Good value for the money. Nice bar/restaurant with good food and it was nice to have a pool to cool down in. Not the best location but it was quite in the neighberhood and the skytrain and subway was pretty close so you could easily go to other places.

Get out of the Khao san road tourist trap and stay here. Handy to the real Bangkok. Nice food. Near sky train. Near MBK mall, JJ market, Saxophone bar (victory monument)

the air con in our room broke but the owner allowed us to have another room for the night and keep the current one so we didn't have to move all our stuff late at night, so thanks for that. Staff were friendly and helped to write things in Thai and guide us on real tuk tuk prices for a certain distance, saved loads of cash. thanks to you all and hope to see you next year.

The Asha is a clean, pleasant and well-established hostel. Our main problem was that we thought 'being on the Skytrain' meant that the main sights of Bangkok would be easy to access - they weren't; the Skytrain (and Metro) ends several miles away from the Royal Palace, Wats, etc. and buses and taxis can be a nightmare.
Also; there was an odd Fawlty Towers attitude from a few of the staff....

It is absolutely a good place to meet people. Many guests make use of the shared room with free internet and tv. We also liked the location because it was just outside the center. You are more between the locals. The showers and toilet were not very clean. We had much better shared bathrooms before.

This hostel is excellent. It is not in the centre of Bangkok but it is near the skytrain and is excellent to get away from the madness of the city. Everything you could need is available and all of the staff are extremely helpful and friendly. It is not a party hostel, but there is a good atmosphere and are to meet others. The food sold is great and excellent value. Washing machines are free, internet is free, wifi is available, there is a pool. You can't really ask for more.
