Liked: What did I like about this property? Well, where do I begin? I arrived to the glorious waft of Indian cooking, coming from the ground floor kitchen, and ten minutes after checking in, I was quickly scoffing it all down. If that wasn't good enough, the staff are all ultra friendly, and go out of their way to help you - be that by booking taxis, recommending bars, or even exchanging your large notes for smaller ones. The location is great, too. I found Khaosan Road a little hectic (who wouldn't, in all honesty) so in some respects I was glad to be a couple of hundred yards away from the action. There is also the option to put a padlock on your room door.
Disliked: Sure, the rooms need a little spring clean, but that's about it. If you're paying £4 or £5 a night, the Wi-Fi's always going to be a little erratic. What do some people honestly expect?

Liked: The location and cost of Rainbow are its greatest assets. Having air-condition why sleeping was very nice as well.
Disliked: When I first met the workers there, they were not so hospitable. Later, they warmed up to you. The lockers are located not in your rooms, but downstairs in the first floor. This made it difficult to access. During most of my stay, the two bathrooms on the 3rd floor were clogged for about 4 days and it was never fixed. I don't know why they couldn't fix it, but whenever you wanted to shower or use the bathroom, you had to wade in about 3 cm of water. The air-condition was on about 12 hours each day and not the whole time.

Liked: If you want to be on Khosan road then you couldn't get a better location - not too noisy as not on main strip but very close. Staff very friendly
Disliked: The smell in our room was very overbearing (damp i think) no windows in the room. For a very basic room on kho san i think this is what to expect luckily we only stayed one night.

Liked: Location! Also they do have a nice restaurant.
Disliked: It's been a bit hard to communicate with the staff and when we wanted to extend our stay for one more night they just didin't let us do that, though hostelbookers showed that they still have some vacant rooms left and once we mentioned that they couldn't explain us why we can't have an extra night. The beds were very hard too, that wasn't a problem for me but my girlfriend was complaining. Overall it was't bad, but could have been easily better I guess you just get what you pay for wich is fair.

Liked: Staff are excellent -- attentive without being overbearing; the food is outstanding; the rooms at the back are great value - the hot water really works and it is quiet. And, it's location is perfect. But most importantly -- the staff are truly outstanding.
Disliked: The water tends to leak in the bathroom sometimes. But it really is not enough to warrant a 'dislike'

Liked: Staff were really friendly and I felt if I needed any help or advice someone would be able to assist.. 1 minutes to khao san road.
Disliked: Very unclean, mold in the corridors, the hardest bed I have ever slept in, shower was really bad, but at the same time if you are paying £6 per night for a single room, it's expected. Just beware you literally get what you pay for.

Liked: Nice, firm beds. Reasonably priced Indian/Thai food on the ground floor. The staff is accommodating.
Disliked: WiFi was only 3mbps and a bit unreliable; It's probably sufficient for most people though. I wish there was an easy connection to the BTS Skytrain from Khao San road, but it seems there isn't.

Liked: very helpful and firiendly staff. they help where they can and tell you places to go and not to go. 24hrs service and even when the kitchen is closed they get you some food from a hostel near by without extra charge. their food is just as well. never waited longer than 2 minutes for getting served our drinks and their prices are fair. 1 minute from khao san road. all rooms have ACs which you can regulate for your own comfort. some have no windows, which was usefull if you wanna sleep longer to be honest. also you have your own safety locker at the reception for free. probably not for recommondation for your parents, but perfect for bakpackers who spend the least time in their rooms and just wander through the city.
Disliked: could have been a little more clean and a little bit quieter, but that´s bangkok.

Liked: I had a private room. was kind of clean (not that much, but for the price, what can I say...), plus private bathroom/shower. Really well located for people who likes the party ambiance, with Khao San Road just beside, bars all over the neighborhood. Perfect for your first days in bangkok
Disliked: really noisy at night. no windows in my room. Also, not the best place to meet people if your alone, as there is no common room to chill, just a restaurant downstairs where people just come and go.
