Customer reviewThe hostel states that it is the cleanest in whole Bangkok but the smell coming from the bathrooms makes you doubt that. |

gareth whittlamDave and Jimbo were great, anything you needed to know they knew. Room was clean and comfy. Good place to meet other backpackers. Fun place to explore bangkok from. Walking distance to sky train, nana plaza and river boats, and only a cheap taxi or tuk tuk to khao san. I will return next year for sure, I wouldn't stay anywhere else for the money thanks guys |

Natalie BallardA nice hostel to meet people without the madness of Khao San Rd. Easy to get everywhere on the sky train, and you can walk to plenty of shops and places to eat. Quick access to the airport by cab, so a good place to stay before you leave Thailand. Small lockers available downstairs but no lockers in the rooms. They did have a list of bus prices, which having already travelled around Thailand I didn't think were particularly competitive, but they weren't outragously priced. |

Customer reviewThe staff was very helpful and knowledgeable on everything you'll need to know to get yourself around Bangkok. This place is not very close to the sights in the old city, but it's close to water taxis and the skytrain, so getting around is not a hassle. Lots of bars and cheap restaurants around here. There are always cabs that you can pick up right outside the place, which makes it very easy to get around. |

Customer reviewIt's a nice place to start your trip in Thailand or at least Bangkok. The place offers a lot of information to stop you from making the obvious travellers mistakes that are inherent to travel in Thailand. It's a great place to meet people that are doing the same as you: travel Thailand and have fun! The first night there I met up with some people and we had a wicked night out. That's fun in Bangkok! Ever since it's been cool meeting people and hanging out. Apart from that it's just a place with a bed. Very nice mattresses. Aircon in the rooms and a fan. But there are super tiny rooms rammed with 10 beds and some people can't take that. Especially when people snore, come in at 5 in the morning after some Bangkok fun or whatever. And for the money you pay... there are better alternatives in town. But hey? Why did I like the place? Because you meet people, David knows the place and is helpful including the walls full of info. It's a good place to go out (Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy), hit the canal to head for the city (cool experience), lots of food around, massage parlors... If I were there for a relaxed time to look around the city and I would not bother meeting people, I would stay somewhere else. For example around Khao San road where you can get very good deals for rooms from like 150B. Be aware: not ON Khao San road, that should be avoided haha. It's hell on earth. |

Patrick Lee Kok KwangLike the soi1 guesthouse because of it's location which is about 10 mins away from the nearest skytrain by foot. Room tariff is on the high side for the triple sharing room with private bathroom only. Toilets are communal(outside and upstairs). Essentials like a mirror, small trash bin and more wall hooks for hanging towels and clothings can make stay more comfortable. Was taken aback to find tiny cockroaches crawling around although food was not brought and consumed in the room. Was awaken by non-stop techno muzic coming from somewhere at around 1030pm but it stopped around 12 midnight thou. Not sure if it's from the guest house. Light sleepers are advised to stay away. Owner and staff are nice and friendly people and approachable when advice on how to get around is needed. They are always at the reception 24hrs a day. |

Ahsha Osborne-SuttonThe people I met were great, it was unfortunate that Dave was not there as the biggest reason for me booking here was that I knew he would be able to help me with stuff- i was given dodgy and mostly incorrect info from the other staff which cost time and money however the people i met made it worthwhile. |
