Liked: Good mix of tourists and ethnicity of staffs

Disliked: Cleanliness, suspected a rat in my room! Dirty living hall! Convenience, no private toilet in private room!

Liked: Great owner, very friendly staff, very comfortable beds in a perfectly sealed room for the air con to be effective! Close to skytrain and an overall great place to stay.

Disliked: The only one negative aspect, which was out of control of the hostel, was some knob next door using a drill at 830am!

Liked: Staff are super helpful with tips on where to go & what to do. Rooms are a decent size & rooms & bathrooms kept super clean.

Disliked: Not lit up well for night time arrivers but if you have decent enough direction before you arrive you should be sweet.

Liked: The owner is warm, friendly and accommodating, going the extra mile in making customers feel welcome and giving travel tips he learned by experienced. There are even documents on travel tips on the walls. Place is basic and clean, near food stalls and other establishments. Also beside a 24-hour convenience store. A five- to ten-minute walk to the BTS Skytrain. Also, it is good that we can check in anytime. The free use of their storage room is also convenient.

Disliked: While owner is knowledgeable on travel tips (particularly getting around), other people manning the reception desk did not know much. Since the owner is not always there, my travel companions and I could not really ask particular questions from the one in charge. The bath towels we received also had a distinct unpleasant smell - that of being placed in the storage room while still wet and just dried there over time. Minor comment: Shower hose in our private shower room in the four-bed private room kept turning towards the wall so my roommates and we had to hold it while taking a shower or press ourselves very close to the wall. Taking a shower is still manageable, though. Suggestion for check-in and check-out: It is good that a guest can check in anytime, but we also hope that checkout can also be flexible, with check-in time considered. For example, if a guest is staying for one night and he/she checks in 3 pm, checkout time should be 3 pm the next day or earlier. At present, checkout time is 11 am regardless of what time a guest checks in.

Liked: Best hostel in 30+ countries thus far! Great common room, amazing atmosphere, and perfect for either partying or exploring Bangkok. Perfect common room with movies, music, bar, pool table, wifi, netbooks to rent for cheap, 7-11 and atm directly downstairs. Very clean while still maintaining a distinct backpacker vibe. A great alternative to Ko San Road. Around the corner from the BTS sky train which will get you anywhere important in Bangkok, plus the Airport, without the need of a taxi. Very comfortable dorm beds, and a great place to spend either a night or a week. Dozens of cheap eats around here, 1 minute from the riverboat ferry, and walking distance to middle-eastern town, pubs, and embassies. Very safe with storage room and lockers. Nowhere better to stay in Thailand - trust me, I'm heading back for my 7th visit in two weeks!

Disliked: Honestly there is very little if anything to dislike. If you are looking for the "hospital" look, want to stay in the ghetto, or dislike making new friends then stay away.

Liked: The staff were all real friendly and helpful, outgoing too, gave great advice. Room had a/c and since it was hot in Bangkok, that was great. Beds were clean and showers were adequate. Communal area was a great chillout spot to meet other travellers.

Disliked: The location was a little bit difficult to locate and it was above a cafe/restaurant of some sort, but once on the second level, the place had a great vibe. I didn't like the fact that there were no keys to the room doors, so anyone can actually go into your room. But lockers were provided in the communal area for small bags, wish i could lock up all my stuff though!

Liked: Really close to all noise of Bangkok but far enough you cant hear it at night Also after a night of partying and you need to check out to catch a flight Mouse will come and poke you to wake you up so can check out and catch your bus/flight/train she rules.

Liked: Most comfortable hostel beds I've ever slept in. Location is good - so close to Skytrain station. Hostel managers were really helpful and friendly.

Liked: The staff were amazing.

Disliked: Someone charged into our room one morning, made a lot of noise about a mirror, then left. Also, there were no windows in the room we stayed in and no soap in the bathroom upstairs.

Liked: I loved the host. David was absolutely fantastic. Not a thing he didn't stop to help out. Awesome hostel, especially if you're new to Bangkok. He'll get yo where you wanna be. Gives great suggestions on things to do and is absolutely amiable.

Disliked: Well, the triple private room with the bathroom's absolutely clean but it would be nice if it had a mirror in the room!

Liked: I really enjoyed my stay at Soi 1, I found the location excellent and although it was not amongst the maddness of Koh San Road it still had a really great atmosphere and was close enough to all of the nightlife and sights/sky train/river. Ricky at the hostel was very helpful and the information available on what to see here and how to see it is second to none I can only describe the place as awesome!!!

Disliked: James left no negative feedback.

Disliked: The guesthouse was far from subway station and actually the house was on the second floor. and the bed seemed really old and the room was smaller than I thought.

Liked: The staff are super friendly and the place has a nice, cosy atmosphere and is very clean.

Disliked: It is clean but a bit shabby - looks like it needs updating a bit. Rooms are very small!
