 The people who tend to stay they are nice and easy going. Good place to meet people if you're travelling alone. Staff and owner are also very friendly and run the place with a personal touch.

i was travelling alone and a bit anxcious at first but as soon as i walked in i meet loads of good people who i will keep in contact with and meet up with at a later stage of my travels. the staff where really cool, a good laugh and very helpful. i am going back to stay there in a month for a couple od days when i fly from bangkok

Toilets & showers modern spacious & clean. plenty hot water. Manager(?) Dave knowledgeable helpful. This is a top hostel I stayed in a few over the years and this one's one of the best and very hard to find a fault.

really good way to meet peopl went out with a group on my second nite and had a blast.really good advice from owner hell tell you where to go and how to get there.and the location is excellent short walk to good bars and restaurants.mcds and kfc up the road if ur that way enclined.

the staff are amazing friendly helpful and will do anything.
The location is great,
they have many very handy tips on the walls for you to read, what to look out for (rips offs, places to see, and how to do it cheap)

Great location, great atmosphere & very very clean!! Lots & lots of info posted on walls which saves you money. The staff are always ready to help out with anything & will even make you an INCDREDIBLE meal any time of day or night. A GREAT place!!

Excellent hostel for your first time in Bangkok. The owner Dave is an expat loaded with helpful advice and tips, if there is anything you want to know about Thailand or anything you want to do in and around Bangkok just ask and he'll have some great advice for you. Wonderful atmosphere, clean, full bar and kitchen, the only danger is you'll end up hanging out there instead of seeing Bangkok... but if that happens its your fault.

dave and the rest of the staff have been really really great! this place has been really good for meeting up with other travelers with whom i got along with really well. i would stay here again, next time im in bangkok!

Soi 1 Guesthouse is a great hostel to stay. It's a great place to meet people. The location is perfect - in a quiet street and close to lots of bars, party places and the shpopping centers at Siam Square (two stops with skytrain). Owner David was very helpful, he makes the place.

I am one of those social/sometimes not persons and this hostel was accomodating to both sides of me- to meet people and go out as well as staying in and reading. Clean, friendly, and warm shower, what else?

David is superfriendly and has good advices for the guests, the hostel was surprisingly clean as my expectations of hostels in thailand regarding cleanliness were totally different, 24 hour reception with great staff. would go back anytime!
