Location ideal. Plenty of shops nearby and only 10 mins walk to Sky Train. Taxis/bikes very easy to get from outside. Free wireless internet and two different things on TV at a time meant I could catch most of the football. Chicken fried rice was superb!

The room is quite big if compared to Silom hostel and is indeed value for money.

NO COCkROACHES!!!!!!!! a lot of the other places i have stayed at you couldn't get away from them.
The food is great and the staff are friendly and easy to deal with and Honest people. Thats why this was my second stay at big Johns. I probably wouldn't go anywhere else when in Bangkok.

Somewhat quiet off-street. Decent prices. Near skytrain and cheap food. Tasty meat pies! Four available computers 24 hrs. per day.

The food was great. Good variety and cheap. There was a good atmosphere and it was very easy to meet people. Good specials on the beer too.

A VERY GOOD PLACE TO BREAK YOU IN GENTLY IF FIRST TIME IN ASIA. MET LOTS OF OTHER TRAVELLERS, A GOOD ATMOSPHERE IN THE BAR/RESTAURANT IN THE EVENINGS.

I would recommend a private room they are very cheap. Excellent that you can leave luggage there and come back for it, not too sure how good security is with that

The lady at the desk was very friendly, patient and helpful.
Big John was kind enough to give me a refund for one night when I had to change plans.

It was my first stay in this type of accomodation as I am on my own now and of a mature age. I was hoping to meet people,converse and hopefully participate in the activities of a younger generation.
BigJohns Hostel's atmosphere enabled this to occur and I look back at some wonderfull times I enjoyed in Bangkok

the girls are so fun and super sweet! relaxed atmosphere, very safe and welcoming. met many local people already and many travelers from all over (mostly aussies and canadians) all are rightious kidz. so close to sky train, street food is excellent around here! good drink specials and just some irie vibrations.
