Liked: This was the best hostel I've stayed at in BKK. I have been to BKK 5 times. The staff was incredibly helpful, the rooms were spectacular and the breakfast was more than I hoped for. It is also located very close to the Northern bus station which was a great convenience. I highly recommend this guesthouse to everyone 5/5 stars!

Liked: Big comfy bunks, wonderful air-con, fabulous rooftop deck, fast and reliable wi-fi, CLEAN :), really nice and accomodating staff. Away from the craziness and homogeneity of Khao San Road ... a chance to see real local people and not get offered taxis every 5 seconds!

Disliked: For a first-time traveler in Asia, it was a bit far from the center of the city (public transport is needed) - but that ended up being a good thing! Other than that, perhaps let people print boarding passes for free (since it's closer to the airport)?

Liked: Helpful staff, good price, nice neighborhood vibe, awesome rooftop deck, good facilities on offer, a great place to set off and explore Bangkok from. It's farther off from the main backpacker digs, but the SkyTrain gets you where you need to really easily. It's really close to the Chatuchack weekend market which is a must see when in Bangkok (be sure to visit BKK for a weekend...).

Disliked: The location can be a bit tricky to find at first if coming from the SkyTrain, because it basically requires you to walk in a huge U turn (away from the hostel and then back towards it) since there is no direct route through the neighborhood, which was a bit annoying in the heat, with a large backpacker's pack. Not bad at all without walking around with the luggage though.

Liked: Spotlessly clean, nice size dorms (only 8 beds), comfortable beds, great showers, quiet.

Disliked: Location - it's a bit of a walk to the Skytrain and then 10 minutes to Siam Square or a taxi anywhere else. It's located quite far down a quiet street so possibly not best for women travelling alone.

Liked: the property was a very well thought out design,exceptionally clean,not cluttered,and very pleasing to look at. obviously the owners had put a lot of thought into this hostel,and the results are very good

Disliked: nothing really,but anyone staying here needs to be aware how far you are away from things, except chatuchak market. also for this price (superior room1200baht) i would expect a small tv and fridge in the room,although there was both available in the lobby

Liked: it's clean and safe, the staff are nice and friendly, it has a beautiful roof top garden to chill out on, there are washing machines and dryers for use at anytime, a nice little japanese style garden on the ground floor , tv dvd, playstation 2 with games. aircon in all the rooms ( turns on at 6pm) its miles away from khaosan road and that is a good thing trust me .

Liked: The staff at Udee was helpful and friendly, and it was located in a very nice neighbourhood.

Disliked: My only complaint is that Udee is a bit of a walk from the Skytrain. But if you like your exercise, definitely stay there.

Liked: exactly as it describes itself-clean tidy-lovely bed to sleep none of this thin type mattress very thick and comfy-only drawback is you can't curtain yourself off if other people want to read etc-

Disliked: 4 flights of stairs(No Lift) a long way to carry bags etc-other dislike quite far from things - nearest thing was chatachuk market

Liked: Exceptionally clean and very comfortable rooms. Private and shared bathrooms were spotless. Breakfast Provided. Internet: wifi- free, computer 10B/15min. Close to skyrail system and bus to Grand Palace. Staff are very helpful. several good places to eat nearby- recommended by staff. Quiet but still easy to access greater Bangkok.

Disliked: Nothing really. Down an alley but we never felt threatened as two young women travelling alone. Torch proivided in room.

Liked: The design of this place is outstanding, its impeccably clean and is all around one of the best hostels ive ever stayed in (and ive been living out of hostels for the last 5 months). The staff is very nice and really I love it and would recommend anyone to stay here.

Liked: The atmosphere was lovely. The rooms were simple, but cozy. It's a nice haven away from the bustle of Bangkok.

Disliked: The location isn't great for accessing the sights in the old area. However, it is ideal if you don't want to stay on Khao San Road.

Liked: The hotel is extremely pleasant and tranquil. The lobby and rooms are lovely and calm and bright. I get the impression it is a very new building. Everything seems to be new, the furniture and facilities. The people were very kind and helpful. The hostel has services I don't usually see in a hostel like a large TV for playing video games and watching news and a large selection of books to read. The walls have a number of maps to help you get around and tickets with the hostel address in Thai on it as well as information about which buses to take. They will definitely help you get where you need to go. The rooms were immaculate and calm, comfortable bed and good shower and bathroom facilities. Bangkok can be a very hectic pace and this is a wonderful break from that. There is a rooftop lounge that is very comfortable which makes it easy to get to know your fellow travelers and has a pretty cool panoramic view of the city. We had a private room with its own bath and it had electronic key cards, clean, safe, pleasant, quiet and secure. Basic cereal breakfast is free and there is a whole pantry of foods you can purchase there. There is a luggage storage and a small kitchen area so you can prepare food if you like, they just ask you to clean up after yourself. The front garden is really lovely with fish ponds, plants and chairs and tables for relaxing. The lobby is open to the air which is very pleasant too. The lobby even has a container of umbrellas for hostellers to use during rainy times. There is a first-class air conditioning system which was just a wonderful thing to have.

Disliked: The only thing that is a serious drawback I think is the location. It's a good 20 minute walk to the metro station and a fair walk to the bus stop. There are not many sit-down restaurants or cafes as Westerners are used to, but the neighborhood does have tons of food stalls. The neighborhood is a working neighborhood, not touristy at all so there are not many things in the way of attractions nearby (there is a Sunday market fairly close.) It took more than an hour for me to walk and take the metro to get to the river where I could get a water taxi to the temples. At this price point, though, it was something we could deal with and the people there were fun, friendly and sociable. We sometimes ran into fellow travelers while going about town and had fun catching up on the roof to compare notes in the evening.

Liked: It's nicely decorated. I guess its a five stars among backpackers. Its clean, staffs are informative. They know the city. The advantage is that the boss is also the frontdesk.

Disliked: Location. Unless you're coming with a group of friends. this place feels eerie at night especially the small lane into and out of the hotel. Although it is 20 minutes walk to train station, it still is quite a walk

Liked: Modern, quiet, efficient, very helpful staff, things just work, inc hi speed wifi. Second time here, coming again, definitely place to return.

Disliked: Not really a dislike, but thing to consider: the distance from down town, but it ensures that you get to see the real Bangkok, not just Khao San road.
