Liked: Genuinely friendly helpful staff. Self service tea and coffee on roof top terrace - FREE. Well stocked fridges with beer, soft drinks and water - sign for what you take and pay on departure. Big 4 poster bed with curtain style mosquito nets. Spacious, though a bit shabby, bathroom with hot shower.

Disliked: It's a bit out of town - 10 minutes walk through harbour. Outside look quite shabby but inside is really nice.

Liked: Fast Internet on the desktop computer and wireless, Management, Staff, Breakfast, my room , roof top terracy and being near to all attractions in stone town.

Liked: Lovely rooftop terrace with a good breeze to cool you down. Local for the ferry but tricky to find (easy when you know how!). Best breakfast and loveliest staff in whole of stone town.

Disliked: Very warm in the room, air con would have topped things off nicely

Liked: close to waterfront , excellent communication on arranging transfers, quiet, excellent rooftop area. helpful and friendly. FANTASTIC hot shower after 24 hours travel!

Liked: Very friendly staff. Very good location. Very nice breakfast, with fruits, cereals, eggs and all the coffe or tea you can have. A bar in the roof room where you can have cold beer anytime, and you pay when you leave. It is nice that you just serve yourself and annotate what you have.

Disliked: USD 25 per person, not per room. USD 50 per night is a too high rate for such an old hotel, in Zanzibar. Clean, but needed to be painted and many things to be fixed. Very old hotel.

Liked: The staff at Princess Salme Inn are helpful and friendly, they offer to meet you off the ferry in Stone Town for free to help you find the hostel and even arrange spice tours and other trips with a local tour operator for you. The hostel itself is beautiful with an amazing rooftop bar, sunny courtyard on the 2nd floor and cosy rooms, ours had a pretty 4 poster bed and good hot showers. I loved the building with it's slightly arabic feel and the relaxed atmosphere of the place. You should definitely stay here!

Liked: Cheap accommodation

Disliked: Rude staff. Completely unhelpful. Room was advertised as having private bath and did not, extremely hot in rooms, fan almost fell off the ceiling.

Liked: Clean, comfortable rooms with a very friendly, kind, sympathetic, attentive staff. Excellent cuisine on the upper ventilated air veranda overlooking the sea and the Stone Town, with all necessary accessories (crockery, cutlery, etc), tea, coffee, sugar is always (for free), 2 refrigerators, mineral water and beer 3 - x varieties, comfortable sofas for relaxing, tables, chairs, TV, stereo, free internet, good breakfast (with fruit)

Liked: Friendly welcome, clean rooms, close to the port and sights of Stone Town. Free internet and nice breakfast included. Honesty bar on roof terrace with views over the roofs of Stone Town.

Disliked: A little bit noisy at night but not too bad.

Disliked: We stayed on the top floor and it was so hot I went up to the roof at 3am and slept there for a bit. I also had ants in my bed! When I told the staff they upgraded me so no complaints there.

Liked: We were welcomed into Princess Salme with smiles and suggestions for activities never stopping until we felt helped. They rang people all over Zanzibar to assist with making our trip spectacular never asking for an additional cent.

Disliked: We can't say that there is anything that we disliked in the slightest.

Liked: Great rooftop eating and sitting area. Free use of Internet. Opportunity to cook for yourself if desired. Very good mosquito nets. Friendly staff.

Disliked: confusing booking process. Should be able to book by telephone. When I booked on line (with HostelBookers) it said only double rooms were available though I had spoken to the owner 5 minutes earlier and was told that dorm beds were also available. Would suggest better window screens. Needs more signage as hard to find! Cleaning up area (pathways) that leads to hostel would be big improvement.

Liked: After you find the hotel you probably will get a bit scared of the place, but in the end you will see that all places in Zanzibar are like that full of small tracks between buildings and houses. However the staff is incredible helpful and very attentive to help all guests. The place is safe, rooms very clean and there is facilities such as wi-fi, breakfast included, and drinks to buy in the terrace. An excellent value money hotel. I recommend it!!

Liked: People in the hotel was very friendly and helpful. Honestly, the hotel is not luxury type, but services and breakfast are very nice. The room had a proper mosquito net, fan and mirror, so comfortable to stay there.

Disliked: If　they　have　a　security　box　in　each　room　or　somewhere　safe　in　the　hotel,　that　would　be　much　nicer　because lots of travelers would go to the beach. Also if they have a shower curtain, that would be nicer. Overall, the hotel is good.
