Liked: Good budget accommodation on the beach in Jambiani. Really, you go outside and the ocean is right there. Amazing location in a beautiful place. Jambiani is wonderful -- a real village on the coast and not merely a tourist area, so you get to enjoy the ocean and experience the culture of the place as well. Highly recommended.

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: Everything. The person at the counter did not even mention that there is no hot water. We had to ask for the included towels - which looked like it was a couple years old. The room was stuffy and cramped. The bed was covered with a very thin sheet and the pillows were flat. The beach was not at all as described - covered with sea grass and rocks.

Liked: We were overbooked on arrival so stayed in a house alongside the main reception area. Despite everything that went wrong with water/toilets/showers/electricity not to mention the very noisy goat living behind us....we had an amazing time, great location in the village overlooking the sea, staff were helpful and atmosphere relaxed no pressure to buy tours etc

Disliked: Breakfast is ok, same every day, but as this is a budget place to stay, can't complain really.

Liked: The beach front location on the white sands and turquoise water offers the perfect experience of the beach culture of Zanzibar. It differs from the northern beaches of the island as it is based within the local villange of Jambiani, so you get to buy food/drink from local mini markets and restaurants. Great cluster of bungalows with diving and snorkelling trips on offer as well as a roof top breakfast each morning.

Disliked: Sometimes getting hold of clean towels/linen was a challenge as the staff didnt always see the need to clean the room each morning, but other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our 5 days here.

Liked: The perfect location of houses near the ocean and actually in the village of Zanzibar, which gives the opportunity to see and communicate with local people to enjoy their flavor. Good communication with Stone Town at the local colorful Dala-dala (2000 shillings, 2 hours). Small houses are cozy, spacious with an extra bed for a child. On the porch has a table and chairs. There are sun beds for tanning

Disliked: Interruptions in the supply of electricity and water, and report it to no one

Liked: Good place for relaxing, not many people at this time. Good beach, very warm and clear water. Many different trips and pick-up possible to book on the reception.

Disliked: Nothing interesting for snorkeling, it's possible to do only as a small trip on local boat. Very strong tide, for the half of a day the sea is a kilometre far away. Very poor restorant in Shene Bungalows.

Liked: The location is great, really nice beach.

Disliked: I found the people that ran the bungalows very rude and unfriendly. Just seemed to want as much money out of you as possible and didn't care about your stay with them. Much nicer placed to eat and stay along the beach.

Liked: We stayed in Shehe for ten nights and really loved the place. It´s a perfect place to relax, swim in the turqoise ocean and watch the local kids playing on the beach. The staff in Shehe was helpful and the restaurant had affordable prices. The locals in Jambiani were friendly and I especially liked the fact that the hostel wasn´t isolated from the village with high fences (as do many other hotels). The only negative point was that the hostel didn´t have a generator and since there are lots of electricity breaks, and they can last for months in Zanzibar, you couldn´t recharge batteries in your room. The staff though was helpful and one could leave batteries in the reception to be recharged. I would definitely go and pay Shehe a visit if I ever went back to Zanzibar.

Liked: I liked that the beach was right outside our doorstep. Many local kids played in the area, sailing little homemade dhows. At low tide there was a huge expanse of tidepools to explore for sea stars, crabs and shells.
