Liked: Having a female only dorm was a bonus. It was very easy to find. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Disliked: I really could do with a good clean. A bath mat would be great as the floor in the shower room was always wet which was quite dangerous. The kitchen facilities were very basic (no oven) just a microwave.

Liked: The location is great! Also, there are free lockers for storing your belongings (you do pay a deposit for the key, but you get your money back). But the thing I really liked was that there are curtains on the bunk beds so as to give some privacy. When I stayed, I was in a mixed dorm, but was the only female in my room of 10 people. The owner was kind enough to ask specifically if I felt ok with the arrangement.

Disliked: The bathrooms could use a deep cleaning as there are some mold spots from the shower.

Liked: I stayed in Taipei Hostel in a 10-bed male dorm room, so my review is based on my experience in the room. The cheap price for a dorm bed and the convenient location are the two major selling points for me. I also like the elevator and free wireless internet connection. Air condition is on in the dorms from 11pm to 7am when people are sleeping. You can use a personal fan when air condition is off during day time. Each bed has two electric outlets for charging laptops/phones and a curtain for privacy. With the money I paid, I felt that Taipei Hostel is a good deal.

Disliked: To be fair, Taipei Hostel is old and cheap. You get what you paid for. I paid for a bed in a all-male dorm room, and I have to say, it's better than my dorm room in college. If I have to pick one dislike, I think that they can improve their cleanliness. But hey it's a dorm ... good/cheap enough to serve the purpose of shower/sleep.

Liked: If you want a cheap and convenient place to stay in the heart of Taipei, this is a place for you! The staff is helpful and friendly; the hostel perhaps lacks character (definitely not the place to hang out in all day, but hey - that's not why you travel!), but the bunk beds with curtains are my big favourites! You can feel as if you have your own space even if you share a room with 9 other people. Thumbs up!

Disliked: I think the place could need some livening up, at least a bit of color or something. It's a bit grey, that's all.

Liked: It is very near to the mrt station.

Disliked: They claimed that the 10% downpayment did'nt go to them. They don't want to deduct the 10% from my bill but i insisted that they should.

Liked: You got what you paid for. The best walue for your money if you are on budget.Free internet. But would be better if you have your own notebook because the only one computer in lobby.But biggest value is location. Safe and clean area. Next door McDonalds is open 24 hr (as well as 7elven where you'll get a beer)Nice place for overnight stay. Very cheap comparing with surrounded hotels.3 minutes walking distance from airport bus stop (you should get out at Sheraton), on internet you'll find exact map how to find it.Taipei is nice sity. Food is inexpensive. One subway ride wil cost you only 0.6 US$Ride from airport will cost you 90 Taiwan dollars (3US$), round trip 160.
