Liked: The owners were really nice and the landlady took the time to write out and labeled all the attractions that Taipei had to offer on the map. It seems like everyone in the neighborhood knew the owners and the people at the corner 7-11 were very nice about letting us use the phone and contacted the hostel for us; the man is a native from Mexico but has lived in Taiwan for a while with his Taiwanese wife. I traveled with 3 other people and we stayed in a 6-bed dorm with an en suite bathroom with a closed off space for a real shower. It included a computer with good Internet as well as a flat screen TV with cable. The room was pretty clean and it was well decorated. I would love to stay there again!!

Liked: Stayed at both taiwanmex 1 and taiwanmex 3. Great staff, good price, clean, and possibly the best located hostel i have ever stayed at. 2 mins walk to the metro or 5mins to central station. Walking distance from modern art museum, miniature museum. Same line as many attractions.

Disliked: Both have very small or no pubic area. Prefered taiwanmex 3 although more expensive and more beds (4 not 2) rooms were spacious and had big sofas. Would recommend this if you want to meet people. Shower at taiwanmex1 was also either red hot or cold. Not the case at 3.

Liked: Loocation is great,nice area, very close to taipei main bus and main rail station. Staff was nice, helpful. Room weresmall but cosy. The linen was clean. There is a computer for the guests wich is great to plan your trip. There are maps of taiwan so that you can figure where to go if you're a bit disorganised ;°) Tha bathroom was really clean as well.

Disliked: The walls are very thin, so your amount of sleep will depends on the behavior of the other guests. :)

Liked: The rooms and hostel itself are spartan, but clean. It's really easy to get to from the airport. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms themselves are small and not particularly charming (lack of windows) but if you need a place to sleep for the night after arriving, it's fantastic value. The washrooms and bedrooms were immaculately clean and well maintained.

Disliked: Most rooms have no windows and are very small.

Liked: The staff are AMAZING!!!! Extremely helpful and accomadating, would highly recommend on thi spoint alone. Very well located too!

Disliked: A little bit small, but it's very cheap too, so you expect it.

Liked: Excellent hostel, the staff are very helpful, toilets, rooms and common areas are kept very clean, and it's in a great location, very central, and next to the MRT.

Disliked: nothing comes to mind, it's very basic accommodation, and not a party hostel, but that was no problem for me

Liked: I stayed in a private room with en-suite, so can't speak to the dorms. Note it is spread across 3 buildings.

Disliked: No real dislikes. Tiny common area so didn't really meet other travellers.

Liked: The fact that it is in the center of the city. The toilets were very clean and the room was very clean as well. The bed was firm and overall the location was good especially if you are coming from the airport as it is near the main train and bus stations.

Disliked: It's not really dislike, but I was hoping they can offer some blankets

Liked: very good location, quite clean, very good price

Disliked: when we do the check in, the owner told us there are run out of room for 4 people, and we have to pay extra money in order to get a place to stay (but i have already paid the deposite 1 month in advance!) but at last we were provided a room for 6 people with the same price we should have paid, not a bad place at all, its just a little accident or misunderatandings i think

Liked: Perfect location. Very, very helpful. Nice people. Wifi. Free Coffee, Water and Tea. Fridge. Hot water in two shared baths. Own key. Clean.

Disliked: Nothing. For Taipei definitely one of the best places to stay. Small rooms, thou. And if you want to party, go somewhere else.

Liked: I am very impressed. My expectation were quite high after reading about Taiwanmex but now that I am here I am quite pleased and have decided to stay here to more nights. It is very, very clean and the free Internet and laundry is truly helpful for me. I love that you have safety boxes in the rooms that comes with the price!

Disliked: Actually I have had no problems. The walls are quite thin, but it hasnt bothered me since there arent that many people living here at the moment.
