Disliked: It was kinda good place but we cannot understand the attendant. She is asking us to pay more than what was advertised on the web.

Liked: Not much

Disliked: Impossible to find, flashing lights right outside the window, check-in person didn't speak any English.

Liked: convenient location just 2 mins walk from Chaoma Bus Station, very friendly staff (although only chinese-speaking so it might be a problem for people not knowing it), free food and internet (very rare to have it for free)

Disliked: dirty but it's ok for the cheapest hostel in Taichung

Liked: Average location

Disliked: It was freaking hot but the owner discouraged switching on the aircon as she said 'aircon is bad for you'. She later relented anyway.

Liked: Very cheap. I didn't mind all of the negative points. But someone else might. :)

Disliked: Was the only person staying there. The woman seemed to be very sweet however does not speak a word of english so couldn't communicate at all with her. It is about a 20-30 minute bus ride from downtown Taichung, so quite far out of the way. There was a dead cockroach in the bathroom and lots of tiles missing.

Disliked: The bathroom wasn't very clean and the whole place wasn't very clean and tidy... Besides that the room was very small, so it was difficult to place your luggage..

Liked: The staff was very helpful and the atmosphere's friendly. It's cheap and is a short distance from the bus stop. There's a free shuttle from the high speed rail station.

Disliked: The rooms aren't ready at all! We were brought to a shady building that's still undergoing renovations. Rubbish everywhere and its clear they simply prepared the room while we were out. The shower's basically a dripper. Easier to use the tap and a pail. Its freezing because there's no heat insulation. I think the dorms are alright but the rooms are out of the question.

Liked: the best selling point to this hostel would have to be the price which is next to nothing. the hostel is located right next to one of the main bus station which comes in very handy to mention to taxi drivers or locals when you're lost and have the hostel address with you. the lady who took care of the place was very nice and did whatever she could to help out. also the complimentary bread-roll for breakfast was also very nice of her.

Disliked: computer was not working. could not get wifi internet up and running. the place was a bit messy. bathroom and toilet was not look too pleasant. the location was too far to walk to most of the attractions. the lady was sometimes hard to get hold of plus she could not speak English which made things a little difficult.

Liked: The owner was very nice and kind, even though there were some problems like the toilet out of order, she was sincerely sorry and did everything possible to help. She also got up very early and prepared breakfast - which i wasn't expecting. So overall if you are not a fussy person - i would recommend this place.

Disliked: Finding the place was very difficult - no big sign outside. If they fix the toilet quickly, then i would stay there again for for a night or two.

Liked: This was a cheap hostel, and our two interactions with the hostel staff was pleasant. There is also a bus station (http://www.ebus.com.tw) five feet outside the hostel that you can catch a bus to Chiayi, Lakang, Tainan, Kaohsiung, etc.

Disliked: The bathroom hasn't been cleaned in quite some time and was quite appalling, even for a SE Asia backpacker.

Liked: Easy to get the bus from HSR but hard to find the actual door, no english sign out front. Cheap and quite.
