Liked: Awesome food (my banana pancakes breakfast was one of the greatest since my stay in Taiwan), very friendly owners who were helpful by getting us a scooter and a Discovery Dive. We stayed in the Ocean Room (1 double bed, private room) for two nights and were very content. The hostel is clean, the bed is very nice and the fact that the Surf Shack also serves great burgers, salads & other dishes adds to the experience.

Liked: The owners are amazing people and make you feel like you are at home. they are willing to help you out as much as you need whether it is beaches to go to or where to rent scooters. The food there is fantastic as well! Terry and Ee are great!

Disliked: A little far from downtown Kenting, if that is what you are after.

Liked: E and Terry are super friendly. I stayed in the Japanese room and my bed was very comfortable. E's food is AMAZING! Lucky me, there are couple of vegetarian choices on the menu. Terry is an awesome teacher in the water, too! Overall, great place to stay. I will stay here again.

Liked: Nice & friendly owner! Totally satisfied & will definitely stay in this hostel when I visit Kenting next time.

Disliked: I'm afraid that pest control may be required as I found one cockroach moving around at the toilet.

Liked: The owners were very knowledgable about the area & Ee was especially friendly & helpful. She is there almost every day & can cook you something great to eat or point you in the right direction if you have something particular in mind that they don't offer at the Surf Shack

Disliked: Only thing I didn't like was that you can't just take off & walk to the beach. If you want to go surf you have to wait for Terry to come & get you with the boards. Otherwise you aren't likely to be surfing if he is busy because you pretty much have to drive about 20 min to go surf anywhere from where the hostel is. It's not too inconvenient but I def would have been able to surf more if the beach was within walking distance.

Liked: The staff were helpful, the place was clean and cute with lots of character, scooter rental just next door.. if you can't get a scooter or bicycle the location would not be great (although there are apparently buses) but with a scooter it was just fine! The food is good too, and made fresh by the hostel owner (she's a great cook!)

Disliked: There was nothing to dislike about the property itself, I just was disappointed there were no other hostel guests at the time of my stay because it looked like it had the potential to be a bumpin' place! Also, the hours of the restaurant were a little inconvenient for breakfast in particular (not open till 11am) but that might be because of the time of year. Overall, really very impressed with my stay!

Liked: Terry, the owner, is so helpful. He gives surfing lessons. He helped us rent a scooter. When we had a morning free but no transportation, he drove us to his favorite beach and picked us up when we wanted to come back. His wife was not there, but his Mother-in-law was really nice despite not knowing very much English. She would often give us random snacks.

Disliked: Karyl left no negative feedback.

Liked: The place was very clean and welcoming. The service was excellent and the food delicious for a very reasonable price, when comparing with other places around.

Liked: Super friendly staff, great price for rooms which are really cute, nice atmosphere, only eaten there once so far (which was good) but the food being cooked smells AMAZING. E speaks perfect English which is so good if you don't speak good Chinese. Really great!

Liked: Staff were wonderful and extremely helpful. It seems a little ways out of Kenting at first but it really isnt that far at all! Clean and well-maintained.
