Liked: Chi was very helpful and informative. She offered suggestions on many of the local sites. The other staff members always greeted us with a smile and a hello, and genuinely seemed to care that we were taken care of. Everyone that was staying within this hostel was friendly and it seemed we all were adventure seekers from all over the WORLD... The only area that was lacking was the cleaniness. The bunks/bedrooms, and bathrooms were a little bit dirty, and the blanket had a strange odor- but on a plus side the sheet was clean! I would STRONGLY recommend bringing your own towel and maybe a blanket if you can find room. To be quite honest if you look at Amigos as a whole, it is a great deal and I will visit again.

Liked: I really love the friendliness of thes staff. I had heard so much about Amigos from Shawn/Travellers at Camel's Oasis in Taipei so I knew I'd be pleased but this was even better than I imagined. Anyone looking for a place where you can feel welcomed and at home with a staff that knows and LOVES the area, this is the place!! Tim's morning music selection es QUE BIEN and I already miss the daily chats and hugs with Migo. However, it's Chi's welcoming smile and charming approach to life that brings traveller's back. The only suggestion I have is to get individual lights for each bed (talk to Shawn). This makes it easier for people to balance getting up/moving in and going down/moving out with people who might be trying to sleep. Just something to think about.

Liked: people are very friendly and the atmospere of this hostel is wonderful.There's internet and a colorful café where you can stay also in the night.It seems to be a place where we can meet people, but when I was there it was'nt a vacation period, so there wasn't anyone else except us.

Liked: The owners are very friendly and helpful. The hostel is clean and provides good atmosphere to meet friends. Location is quite convenient, near train station where you can get the bus to Taroko Park too. it's also not far from the downtown area.

Liked: advantages: newly opened, clean, cheap, come with breakfast, near the railway station, cafe in the hostel, 24h free internet surfing, free self-service coffee and tea. adequate bathrooms available, staff are helpful and friendly, silence environment, car/motorcycle rental service shops nearby.disadvantages: all dorms are mixed (no male/female dorms), quite far from hualien town (30min walk/10min bus), no individual lamp, no lockers and room key.

Liked: It was great! The staff spoke english and arranged all of the activities we wanted to do. They were really helpful. The free breakfast in the morning was good, all the rooms and bathrooms were really clean. There's a bar dowstairs and a computer.
